Am I wasting money upgrading to Rubicon Fox 2.0 shocks and adding a 2” lift or or level?

I really like the look of the fox shocks and want to add them to my Sport S. I am going to pick up the Stock Rubicon fox shocks and have them replaced while doing either a 2” daystar lift or daystar level...

Do I need the 3.0 instead of the stock 2.0 Fox shocks after the level or lift.. will I still get the benefit of the fox version over my stock after adding the lift or level. I don’t want to do it if I am wasting the money to upgrade other than the looks? Was hoping to get a little better ride out of it as well. Sport shocks ride fine tho.

Also would this really negatively effect my ability to tow as much...

I threw the rubi Fox shocks on my Overland this weekend and found that they do de-compress a little bit more then the stock shocks but considering the stretch was maybe half an inch / max an inch more - i think Id upgrade to a longer shock with a 2inch lift. You might be stretching a little to hard.

This is just my observation.

The Daystar 2" space lift comes with shock extensions to move the shocks up. Am running the Daystar lift and no complaints.

I swapped out my Sport suspension for Rubicon take offs. Just used the Fox shocks and the springs as that is all that is different. It raised the truck but still low in front. Then put on my steel bumper and winch and the front end drooped another 1”. So I put a Rough country 2 1/2” lift in the front, raised it a true 2 1/2” and it now sits 1/2” high above level in front. The lift had longer sway bar links and shock extensions. It looks good and rides good.

Can always add .75" spacers in the back to bring it up a little.

I was thinking of keeping my springs from
Max tow...
adding Fox 2.0 Rubi shocks
2” Daystar front level
.75 rear daystar spacer

Thoughts??

seems way more economical than the actual lift....

DylanR- if I was going to do it again, that’s the way I’d go. Good thought.
Wylde- I kicked that around but decided it looked good as is. I like the front end up vs down. I just ran the headlights down 2” and it all good.
It’s as high as I want it now and will gain a couple inches when I get wheels and 35’s on it.

If it’s pure stock. Maybe. Measure what you have now and figure what you will have by adding 2”” in front and 3/4” in back. I needed 2 1/2 to make up for mine with it down originally and then the bumper/winch weight. Pure stock mine was 1 1/2” low in front.
2” in front might make you a bit high in front.
