Got it working LOL - Thanks guys, You are the best! @Adawg1203 @Sorbs
I kept mistaking the Bluetooth button to initiate the pairing - I guess it is just to connect/disconnect after you set it up.
Thank you all, I was ready to have my first warranty claim. BTW, is that in the manual? How on earth did you figure it out?

The owners manual instructions did not list it. I cannot tell you how long I spent trying to figure out the pairing process to no avail. Fortunately, when I reached out on the forum @Sorbs already did the heavy lifting and shared the fix. As to how, its a mystery to me, just glad it took care of the problem! LOL

I have a sport s, and perhaps you missed my joking tone....... My Gladys is amazing, if you have a bottomless wallet then cudos to you.
I easily caught your joking and was taken aback by the I have more money than you thus my truck is obviously better than yours come-back.
Ouch.

Good thing I don't give a rip about "badass" so I don't care.
Anyone can buy thousands of dollars of parts and bolt them on.
It's like all the bling at a car show - go buy a newer Camaro and spend 10 grand on chrome everything, flashing LED lights under the hood and around the grill, tall wheels and chrome plated calipers. I walk right past those and avoid the bling and bolted on stuff. I go for the thinking, creativity. Did it take thought? Or just money?
I go for engineering, creativity, thinking things through. That's why my builds take years.
I don't care for the cars built out of a catalog with bolt-on bling and an entire engine bay loaded with chrome parts. That only takes money, nothing else. Doesn't make it "better". Only more expensive. And it won't sell for more in the end.

That's just my opinion and worth every single penny paid for it. It comes with a money back guarantee, void in the states of Utah and confusion, must be 18 to participate.

Nobody can understand the anguish I suffer from not upping the $30 when ordering and getting the smokers group. If I could do it over again I would order the smokers group! Wonder how much it would have increased my payments?

Pretty sure my "SPORT" is more badass than whatever you own now. I have more money than time, so.. :)
Booooo, Gladys is beautifully dressed. @steffen707 has done a great build (for what HE wants). A shit ton of money dumped in a "badass", many times just makes a dumbass. Not saying you are, but we all build what WE want. To each their own and every budget is unique. Personally, I find joy in using my own tools, wrenching my own mods. That's how financially tight I am. So, if dumping a shitload of money into my build, is the only way I can get a badass truck, I will never have a badass truck:crying:. Welp, I'm over it. I LOVE MY TRUCK:jk:

That's one of the best posts and I can SO relate.
I have always preferred doing it myself, my own shop, my own tools, my way and it's the satisfaction of all that that counts for me.
I must not do too bad - my car has beat out professionally done cars three times now.
Don't like it? Don't look at it LOL

I know this tread started as a reference to options, and somehow turned into a Model "Discussion"

I have a pretty much loaded Sport S with Max Tow....At the time I purchased, the Rubicon was about $6K more with the same options...

I've owned 3 Rubicon's, and while they have some cool added features and carry a little more swagger, this Jeep was already
expensive and the added $6K was too big of a pill to swallow.

Since then the Rubicon have dropped a little in price and availability has improved... *There were very few Rubicon's available back then.
I bought my JT when they first came out, patience would have been in my favor on this one.. smile

There are a handful of folks that will take their JT's over 3' boulders, the rest will utilize it as a truck and some off road use...

The most underrated Model is the Overland... Doing it all over again I'd get the Overland in a heart beat...*Over the Rubicon.
Better interior, more painted part options than the Sport, added badging, great looking and not a lot more money than a Sport with the same options....
It doesn't have the Max Tow option, which is definitely a great options, but I could figure something else out if needed.

If Jeep had offered Max Tow on the Overland, I have no doubt it would be the hottest selling JT at this time.

Unless you are Eddie, Mel, Brian and a few others, the JT isn't being used as a hardcore off roader.
And I have to mentioned, on the last trip that group took out East, the JT's outperformed the JL's on some pretty serious terrain.
So all the smack talk about how limited the JT is for serious trials, that's a bunch of BS..
Now they did put over $50K in suspension work, but so were the JL's.

Congrat's ZTMAN on your new JT! Great color selection....

I was looking at Sport S only because of max tow. But when my wife said what about this, what about that, and "only if you get the body color roof and fenders" and I started paying attention to her and had to agree that I'd absolutely miss some of those things because I'm used to them and part of the reason for trade to begin with was to GET some of those things my Chevy lacked. Why trade for a vehicle that didn't have what my Chevy had and in some ways even less?

The folks at dealerships apparently don't see the blue with the painted top and fenders and the response at two different dealerships seeing it has been great. I'm really glad I took my wife with me for the final thoughts on it. That's something I do NOT regret.
And because I took her along - and she determined the Overland was a good fit, I also have a new tilt-bed aluminum car hauler, too!

Honestly - put aside pride, emotions, the thought of bragging rights - how many here absolutely HAVE to have 7650 pound towing capacity?
I haul my cars around to shows and events on a car hauler - and I don't top 5,000 pounds - so was max tow NECESSARY, or was I just wanting bigger numbers so I could brag about it? Having driven this Overland around a while now - I'm happy with my choice. And better yet - I never expected it to be a daily driver but my wife and I believe it would make a good one so I may sell my WJ.
This JT is a Swiss army knife in many ways.

Question is, when you purchased your Gladiator is there anything that you did not know then, that you know now, that would have change your purchase decision or equipment options.

I have owned seven Wranglers (CJ, YJ, JK, JKU) Looking at a JT. When I speck out a Sport S with the equipment I want, it is basically the close to a price of a stripped down Rubicon.

I use my jeep as a weekend driver, mild trails at our camp. Currently have a 2016 JKU WW with ten thousand miles. Headed to the dealerships this weekend..

Debating betweend a Sport S with auto tran, trac-lok, cold weather group, trailer tow (I would then add larger tires.wheels and rock rails) or a Rubicon with auto tran and cold weather group.

Any feed back would be appreciated.
Sport S, Max Tow with Aux Switches, and Slush mats, Premium soft top & thats it. $39,900 after taxes, no regrets, don't care about all the electronics. Added lift, bigger tires, love it. Every thing is functioning beyond my expectations with "0" regrets. Front Bumper and Rock Rails are next.

I also ordered the Sport Max pretty bare (knowing I was doing lift, wheels, tires, bumper, winch). Got the MAX just to have it jic. Never knew about the reduced payload/towing when lifted with 35's. So, I'm glad I got the Max because I would have lifted with 35's on any JT I got. Only thing I wish Sport Max would have had available was the proximity key. So, jelly of my daughter walking up to her Compass and not needing to dig her key out.

I opted for the Sport S in sting grey, 7" radio, cold weather group, convenience group, premium soft top, side steps, spray on bed liner, tow package and A/T tires. I opted out of the tonneau cover because I couldn't decide which one I wanted but ended up with the Mopar soft tri fold. The only thing I wish I had but passed on was the key proximity sensor other than that I am thrilled. Difference for me was just over 5K between mine and the Rubicon. I also felt there were options on the Rubicon that I wouldn't use.

BTW...for all the Overland owners who may or may not be shy about your choice to go with a so-called "inferior" model: @RebelOffRoad says hello with their Overland builds that could absolutely destroy a stock Rubicon on the trail.

I think everyone should try to harken back to those days, just a year ago, when no one in here had a Gladiator.... and some people in here still don't have one!

Maybe everyone should just be happy that you got what you got.

I didnt read the whole thread TLDR, and I am sure you have plenty of opinions by now. However, here's mine. I have alwasy owned sports with upgrades. I got exactly what I wanted which was max tow, cold weather and hard top. I knew I could move my 34 inch tires and wheels over no problem and do not plan on lifting this time around. It drives like a dream and at just over $40k was an easy decision.
