Max tow no longer available on sport?

I’ll be ordering a sport model soon and was just checking the Jeep website. Currently on the website the max tow option is not listed on the sport build page but it is on the sport s. Did something change or is this a glitch? Thanks.

Correct. No longer available on base Sport. I ordered one 3 days before change. Still trying to verify that it will be built as ordered.
They want you to upgrade to higher cost model. Base model is now just base.

Normally I don't prefer optional "packages" with their higher cost and usually much unwanted content. However, I think the S package (24S) is useful and will help resale in price and ease of selling It includes the power windows, mirrors, door and tailgate lock, security alarm, leather steering wheel, etc. Back in the 90's, I had a Ram with the base steering wheel and where I tended to hold it, I wore through the covering. Leather fixed that.

That is the way it originally was when I ordered my Max Tow last June. You could not get it on the base Sport, had to be the S. It has only been lately that I saw reports you could get the Max Tow on a base Sport.

The jeep builder website is not correct. As of this posting dealers can still place orders for Sport with Max Tow.

That is the way it originally was when I ordered my Max Tow last June. You could not get it on the base Sport, had to be the S. It has only been lately that I saw reports you could get the Max Tow on a base Sport.

The first Max Tow on base sport that we ordered was placed December 2019

I was able to order a base Sport w Max Tow on March 3. Should be delivered to dealer on or around 3/28/20. When I started looking at Gladiators and using the "Build My Jeep" feature on Jeep.com, you could add Max Tow to a base Sport but they soon cut that out. My dealer was able order it somehow. It'll be interesting to see what actually shows up.
