Does anyone know of a bumper manufacturer that is making a rear bumper with an integrated tow hitch? That factoy tow hitch kills the departure angle.

I came across one the other day where the tow hitch was hidden behind a spring loaded flip-up license plate, but I didn’t bookmark it :headbang:

The factory tow hitch kept me from dragging the bed on poison spider in Moab.

You were probably looking at the JCR bumper. I’m waiting for something like Exodus 4x4’s or TJ Mitchell’s that actually cuts into the rear panels.

I believes JCR’s bolts directly to the frame same as the factory receiver. However they include a nice caveat that officially rating their setup would be prohibitively expensive, so buyer beware.

It appears to be like their Tacoma bumper which is essentially a bumper built around a hitch and it's beefy as hell. Where the factory hitch dips down and comes out under the bumper, JCR's just comes straight out from the support.

Only downsides IMO are that you have to get a longer hitch to clear the bumper itself (it pretty much eliminates most adjustable hitches as an option) and you very likely aren't going to want to be towing a lot of weight all the time with it since it's not technically rated.

Good explanation.
Sounds like it would likely do it, but they don't want to spend the mega-bucks and much time it takes to certify. And for some, clearance could be an issue.
But, could be a viable option to get that receiver tucked up in there higher if you don't need the hitch clearance.

I’d like to know how “high clearance” this bumper really is. The factory hitch hangs down almost 8 inches, but this bumper has a fair bit of meat below the frame. Looks like it only saves you ~2” over oem.
