Have any of you made the swap to Rubicon LED stuff, replacing your Max Tow lights?
If I have read correctly, its as simple as removing the old stuff, plugging up the new and then programming LED with a JScan or Tazer. Is this correct?
Does anyone have any links or threads of the process? Any pics before / after?

What knowledge does someone need going into that?

The swap is pretty easy and can be done without removing the flare. Lights plug right in, change the settings to LED and that’s it. Some struggle with the double stick tape that is on the lights. Others find it easier to remove the flare. Search in the lighting section on the JL forum.

If you buy used lights make sure the wire harness is NOT cut, there is no part number for the harness on the LED’s.

Have you done this swap? What kind of tape are you speaking of? They are taped as well as screwed?

What about the halos did you need some sort of harness?

It’s been covered heavily in this section. Use the search function and you’ll find plenty of references and how people have done it.

I have swapped multiple sets of fender flare lights, there is a strip of 3M double stick tape on the top edge of the light where it comes out of the top of the flare, not a big deal just pull on it and it will release.

As for the halos, Mopar makes a kit to connect them to the BCM but most just connect them to fuse 56 or 57, the heated seats fuse with a “Micro” fuse tap. That’s what I did.

Are you talking head lights, tail lights or other?
If tail light assemblies, be aware that some have BSM, some do not..........

Ok thanks. So, does that make them stay on at all times when the truck is on?

I have also ran across things over on JL area's but I did not know if there are differences they have compared to the JT.

For right now, just the front end. Headlights, DRL, Fogs, etc.

Yes they will be on anytime the ignition is on. Forward of the “b” pillar the JL and JT are 99.9% the same minus the axle, grill and badges.

Oh, and any of the Fog Lights will plug right in but there are three different mounting arrangements. Sport has three screw tabs, Sahara/Overland/Rubicon have four tabs and all steel bumpers have two.
Idk if there are three tab LED’s or not. Maybe the Willys model has them.

Have you search “led headlights” I found like 6 different post in the first search page. All talking about the exact same thing. Not trying to be an ass about it, it’s just been covered like 6 ways to Sunday.

But here we Go:

Yes everything is straight swap, headlights, parking lights, fogs and taillights.

You WILL NEED a programmer of some sort, there’s like 6 different ones. Use search and you’ll find plenty of topics covering the difference between them

LJ, Rubicon, overland, Mojave’s and all other Jeep variations (2018+) use the same headlights, fogs and parking lights. The installation of each has been covered plenty of times, use the search function.

The biggest pain point of out of the LED swap is the cost if your going OEM, there’s other aftermarket options available. Use the search function it’s been covered plenty of times.

Dont search by the trim level, ie“Rubicon headlights” just use LED headlights. There’s rubicons that are actually equipped with the regular halogens.

hope this was what you looking for, again Not trying to be an ass but everything can be search pretty easily.
