A.R.E. Aluminum Topper

So I have an older commercial style topper and I'm wondering how much weight can I put directly onto it...no rack. I wanted to mount my RTT directly to it but I'm not sure it will support the weight of the tent, two people and my dog.

I'm also thinking of maybe running unistrut between the ...not sure.

Define "fitment issues"! So at the don't of the bed the Gladiator is lower than the side rails and the topper is flat all around so there is a gap index the topper at that point. Looking into finding something that will fill that in. The topper is quake on all four corners and the Gladiator is round. The topper is technically shorter (strip of "L" aluminum hits it...it looks like it was installed at the factory) and more narrow in some places then the Gladiator bed but it doesn't bother me. The Gladiator cab leans forward and the topper is straight.

I would say "no" there are no fitment issues...just cosmetic. But VANITY is a bitch it might be a deal breaker for some people. It cost me $300 and was in EXCELLENT condition just silver. It took 3.5ish cans of Bed Armor (O'Reillys) about $60. So it roughly cost me $3400 less than a new one built specifically for the Gladiator. Its all aluminum no glass and the doors are solid not aluminum inserts where the glass should be. All the doors close tight, square and flush. It looks like there are gaps in the pictures but thats how they are designed.
