I'm looking to change my rims and go up to 35s with no lift. Liking the Black Rhino Abrams drab green. The offset is a -18. A few wheel dealers in my city have said that it won't fit while the Black Rhino site says it's a match. Who to believe?

What width? What axles do you have? Stock wheels are well into positive offset, -18 should fit any gladiator but they will stick out at least 2" further on each side

Check out AEV rims they have the correct offset for the JT, it is listed as +25mm, https://www.aev-conversions.com/product/savegre-ii/
I do not get having tires stick out way beyond the fenders, IMO anything over about an inch looks like you bought the wrong rims for your JT, the only other place I see it is on pickup trucks commonly referred to as Bro Dozers.

100% can confirm they will fit and there will be ZERO rubbing as long as you take of the cheap air damns. Ran mine for 2 months no issues whatsoever.

2020 Rubicon with the tow axles. Width is 9.5.

I'd prefer they don't stick out. Rim dealers listing is ok up to a -10. If they stick out a little I can live with it for the sake of these rims.

How much did they stick out from the fenders?

If you want minimal poke look for +20 or less. The more positive you can get the further they will sit inboard. Tire width becomes an issue at some point so you may be looking at a +10 or a 0 to clear tire width
