Will the older Gladiators be able to update to Uconnect 5

This topic has been on my mind since I got my Gladiator, with Uconnect 5 essentially right around the corner, I would hope that the answer is yes. I have done a lot of digging and can't find an answer, so I was hoping someone here would be able to offer some input! Thanks guys!

Its easy to upgrade. Just trade in your old out of date Gladiator for the new fancy updated Gladiator. Repeat this step every 2 years or so chasing the newest gadgets and gimmicks. Sure it will coast a fourteen but at least you'll have the newest up to date software advalible.

so if there ever is uconnect 5 for the current gen gladiator I don't see how we could not swap units but it won't be as easy as an update. With the different screen sizes my guess is this will not make it to the current gen gladiator and only be available with a bigger refresh down the line. wireless carplay and multi phone connectivity are certainly sweet

Yeah but if a smart phone UI can work across multiple screen sizes and generations of hardware, this should too. Hell, its even based on Android UI...

Yes but as far as I understand things like wireless carplay and multi phone connectivity need different hardware on the Bluetooth side.

Yeah but even if we got the multiple profiles and the new home screen, we don't NEED everything. Yes, we want it but I would be happy with the new Nav software as well SOME other new features, whatever can be put on the older systems!

Looking into aftermarket solutions maybe an option....
It is nice tho to keep it “all in the family” but that is an option...

Yeah good thoughts here. I'm waiting until 2022 MY ordering opens either way, but it sure would be nice to get the next-gen tech.

Waze is superior GPS anyway, and do I really want somebody else's phone connected to it while I'm driving besides mine? I'll just keep my 7" screen and be happy. I do realize I'm probably in the minority on this.

With the 7in screen I’ll probably end up just getting an aftermarket radio down the road. Once they un ass the satellite radio stuff at least. All the reviews ive seen for aftermarket radios have them not working right with our satellite radio for some reason

If FCA is smart they would make a kit for older models they would sell tons of them
