Wanting to make sure I review all the bed mounted spare tire options before making a final decision.

Rugged Ridge
Fishbone
AEV
RoughCountry

Others?
I am leaning towards the RR since it doesn’t require drilling more holes in the bed. However I do like the AEV since the tire mounts standing up against the bulkhead which in turn means it takes up the least amount of room. AEV seems to be vaporware so that may be a deal killer. I want quality, cost is way down on the list.

DV8 has an interesting tire mount for the bed. I am considering it.

I just found this one as well. Not cheap ($700 shipped) but definetly an interesting design with the gas shocks and ability to raise up and support itself. It’s got to put a ton of stress on that bulkhead it bolts to in order to be able to support the weight of a 40” wheel tire sticking straight out. That’s my only concern. Woukd love to hear from someone who actually bought one and has one in their DD. SEMA trucks are nice but rarely represent the real world.

I hear ya, but the bracket looks huge and should distribute the load pretty evenly in the strongest parts of the bed (yop rail and corners). You can see it a little better detail here. Still on the fence and i am not sure where it is made.

At least when it’s in the lowered position it appears the tire is resting on the bed floor lessening the stress on the mount.
everything DV8sells o believe is made in China. It’s a concern. My buddy had their front bumper on his JK and it’s quality and construction was marginal.

That would be a deal breaker for me. Good luck with the search and I will follow to see how it shakes out.

I just purchased this and got it mounted yesterday. I'll send pics and leave feedback for you.

Looks great. How do you like it?
So far so good, no complaints. Swapped out the factory wheel and got a deal on the 5th Fuel Wheel, so looks a little cleaner from the back.
