Why was Gator and Gobi dropped?

Why was Gator and Gobi dropped as exterior colors for the 2021 model? I have been waiting for a diesel but wanted it in Gator.

I thought I read that Covid caused low sales and that caused them to just limit production overall and thus limit color options keeping "safer" color options out there.

yup = Exact same boat here.
I am hoping this summer they will rotate around to Commando or Tank for 2022.

Welcome to the board Greg. Jeep cycles through various special colors throughout the Wrangler lifecycle and it seems the Gladiator is following suit. Punk'n was another color that did not come back for 2021.

"Sarge" is the green/military hue successor and as you probably know, Snazzberry and Nacho are also new to the fold. I think we can expect these colors to also have a short shelf life as the standard white, black, grey, red, and blue trek along each year.

Jeep swaps roughly half of its color options every year.

Colors that have become staple are black, bright white, billet, granite and firecracker. Everything else comes and goes.

If you want a diesel in Gator or Gobi, just wait a couple of years and chances are one or the other will return.

Gobi first appeared on 2017-2018 JKs. I think Gator was all-new.

Sometimes the exact same color will appear under a different name. For instance, Dodge’s Octane Red from 2014 is today’s Snazzberry.

Sarge opened up for ordering in December. The build and price was just updated last week to reflect the new color additions. You can search for photos of Sarge Wranglers to get an idea of what it would look like on a JT.

I love my gobi, but if they ever do Mojito in a gladiator, i might have to switch up.

I did not notice that they had a "show all" button at the bottom. Additional colors are then displayed.

Eliminating Gobi forced my hand last summer. They were hard to come by with the options you wanted and anywhere close to your house. Trying to get a good deal on top of that was a challenge
