Fair price for this JT

I’m going to be looking at this Gladiator this weekend. Just wondering what a fair price would be on it

MSRP $45,205
Advertised on Autotrader for $41,354
KBB fair range $41,086-$44,323

Only thing it’s really missing for me is the backup sensors, although those are kind of rendered unnecessary by the camera, and the LED package, but there are aftermarket options for that. I would like to have the 8.4 radio but it’s not a deal breaker. What do you guys think?

$40K+ is a lot to drop on any rig. My concern is you’re already thinking about compromising on some options you want want - especially if you already have them in your current rig. If you’re going to spend that much money, I would try to find one that includes the options you would like and see what a fair price is on that truck. There are a lot out there. I don’t know how much extra it is for the options you mentioned, but I’ve been there before and later on I’m like, I just dropped $40K on a new rig and it didn’t have the options I really wanted, when I could have spent x amount of dollars more and gotten what I really wanted. Maybe research a rig with the option you want and see how much extra $ it is.

$41K seems fair, but others will let you know if it’s not. I hate the buying process when a trade is involved. A lot of factors can come into play.

I’m coming from a 2014 ram 2500. Those options are “nice to have” but not “must have”. They are also around $4k ($2k for the LEDs and the backup sensors and $2k for the 8.4 radio and alpine) I’m trying to keep it reasonable so I’m willing to make a few compromises, especially since there are good options available aftermarket. That’s also why I’m not getting the steps or tonneau cover that I would like to have. Both are available for less money aftermarket, you just can’t roll it into your payment. I always approach the trade as if I was negotiating the difference between the 2 vehicles. The actual numbers don’t mean anything. “I’ll give my trade plus X”

You could always request a quote from one of them. Send them the window sticker of that one and see what kind of price they could do. Then figure out from there if any extra savings is worth the potential travel and wait time.

I didn’t go through option by option, but it seems like employee pricing is 10-11% off MSRP. 11% off would put me at $40,232, while 10% is $40,684.

For what it's worth, the interactive pricing spreadsheet (https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...diator-pricing-worksheet-google-sheets.17566/) Puts invoice (without destination charge) at 41,975. At 6% under invoice and with the destination charge you'd be at $40,951.50. The various doc fees that some of the dealers charge can offset some of that savings. So even with a factory order with a nice discount off invoice, you might only be saving a few hundred bucks to around 1K from this deal.

I would check with that dealer offering that price though as you will find many just take every possible discount, including those that 90% of people don't qualify for, and take it off the price. They do that to try to get people in the door only to have the prospective buyer realize the actual price would be thousands more.

You might not have that experience, just be aware that it is a very common practice.

Sorry. it has been a long time since i ordered my Truck. I didn't add enough info to my post. EP is close to 5% under invoice. I don't remember if the FWP is the EP pricing but for some reason I want to say that it is not. I would simply tell them that I wanted EP and to see the Priced Ordered Confirmation (POC). It will show the HB hold back FFP witch I think is the FWP invoice price and the EP.I dug through my file cabinet to refresh my memory so I hope the info I am giving you is 100% but like I said. It has been awhile and I'm dumb Here is a shot of my POC I saved $5,359 off sticker price with the limited options I picked. Good luck

KBB is pretty dead on If you configure it right so I would shoot for $40K and settle for $41K or maybe take the $41,3 and ask them to throw in something like floor mats or tonneau

If there’s something you want or would buy later they may do better on that, then pushing for the last 500 on price.
