When I hit any bumps, especially when the wheels hit one unevenly, I get a wiggle on my wheel. It’s almost like the highway is controlling the steering for a second. I don’t remember if this happened before my lift. (Mopar 2” with 37s professionally installed). Had shop check it out and said it felt fine. Never happened this aggressively on my lifted TJ or any of my other cars/trucks. Anyone else have this?

Would something help like Synergy track bar brace or steering stabilizer?

More caster may help, could add geometry correction brackets, also could get a better steering stabilizer like the Fox TS one.

What tire pressure are you running? As @Mac also points out, you may need to upgrade steering stabilizer.

I’ve upgraded my Mopar 2” lift and entire front end with Fox steering stabilizer, Synergy adj control arms, Synergy HD steering/track bar bracket, and Steersmarts track bar. Needed my caster adjusted to settle things down after a few bouts of death wobble when my steering stabilizer exited its mount. 37s are heavy and their rolling mass over bumps at high speed without some beefier compensation might be something to check into.

thanks for the reply

tires are. 32psi
The shop I go to recommended the Synergy track bar brace but I feel like it was just a guess. Very very confusing. Sometimes it’s not so bad but then tonight driving home it was shaking more than that video I posted.
May just start diving in and upgrading components one by one and see if I get it.

I know the feeling. I did the steering/track bar relocation bracket because I watched a YouTube video of someone running 37s with a stock steering box that’s unsupported and it tends to flex. Note, the bracket didn’t prevent death wobble when my stabilizer popped off its mount though.

The shop I use rotated the front axle and torqued everything to spec. My steering is tight and I don’t get a wiggle over rough roads at freeway speeds now. It’s a process but you’ll eventually find the solution. BTW, I run 36 PSI and it tracks straight.

What lift and track bar do you have? It looks like you have some play somewhere in a suspension or steering component. It shouldn’t be that bad even without a track bar/steering gear brace.

Mopar 2" lift
stock track bar (stock everything else suspension related)

The first thing would be to check torque on the track bar, and also the steering box bolts. The bolts came loose on my aluminum box at about 5,000 miles. If those are both ok, I think if you added a good adjustable track bar and centered the axle, things would be better.

Wasn't there a TSB on the steering rack of some Gladiators?

I’m also on the Mopar lift but with 34’s. Had this same problem until I had the steering TSB done. It’s significantly better now. I am still going to do a Clayton front track bar and the Synergy brace though.

Beginnings of death wobble. Lifts and bigger wheels/tires can do that.
