RokBlockz Rubicon mud flaps with MOPAR Performance Rock Rails...

For those that have a Rubicon with MOPAR Performance Rock Rails-- need advice on the RokBlokz mud flaps, it any with both running with these? I need advice (pics please). Not sure whether to buy with or without cutouts to customize for best fit??? MOPAR Performance Rock Rail pic on my Rubicon below...

I would go to a nearby dealer and look at the standard rock slider, I think the performance ones are almost the same with just an extensionod or wider profile, if so I would start with the cutout and just trim it wider. Go slow and easy and keep it tight! Would not hurt to ask if they have the larger cutout for that in an e-mail.....Jack

You need to buy the RokBlokz with the cutouts then modify the cutout to fit the extended rails. The rails go through the cutout. The other option would be to cut the front of the rails back then you could get the ones without the cutout.

I have this combo. I very carefully enlarged both front openings on the flap to fit around the performance rails, both flaps failed and tore after a few months. I think it's too much material to be removed and the flaps are not as strong as a result. This was just city and freeway driving, no off-road.

best option IMO is to trim the performance rail.
I haven't done it yet, but might do it in the next few months.

Cutting the performance rail back is actually a good idea, not sure how the cap goes in end, but would make for a much cleaner install

The cap just presses in by friction. Mine are still going strong after 8000 miles, highway and some off-road. The inside edge is pretty thin after trimming and has more flex.

I'd cut the rail back, much better outcome when done, but it's your Jeep and your choice.
I do think the flaps will be stronger and last forever, and can see cutting too much out could be a problem......Jack

THANKS for posting this!!!! I have the performance rails and I am not going to get into cutting them shorter just to mount the rokblokz. I was wondering about that very issue as it seemed like you would have to remove a lot of material. Think I will hold off on mud flaps for the time being as I am 99% on pavement anyway.

just some photos for this thread, rokblokz is a quality product, just doing the additional cutting needed to fit the performance rails is probably pushing it too much- so no fault to them.

Thanks again for taking the time to show the pics! They really tell the story. I'd have to agree after seeing these....grat product but just not enough material left if you have to trim to fit the performance rails. The size difference between the standard rubi rails and the performance rails really is quite significant. In my case the funny part is that I was intending to get a set of rubi take off rails....but when I met with the guy from craigslist and he had the new in box performance rails (that he had advertised as rubi rock rails) and was only asking $200 I pretty much felt obligated to take them...lol. Deal of a lifetime. In the end I do love them though and they provide the perfect step that is just big enough to help my smaller kids climb in.

I'd personally chop a inch or 2 off the rail. And get the mudflaps without the cutout
