So I've only had the Gladiator for about 8 months and it drives great and everything is awesome! Except... 5 months in, my gf was putting down the sun visor and this happened.
Danggg!! For being a jeep that can go up and down mountains no problem they sure skimped on the hardware. I actually saw a bunch of threads of this happening on the JL forum.
Anyways. I called my local dealership. They wanted $150+ dollars for the part. I didn't want to take my jeep to the dealership cause they do bad work and I trust myself fixing things. I searched around and the cheapest place to get the OEM sun visor from Mopar is....(drum roll)... Jeep Dealership in Myrtle Beach, SC. With shipping the part came out to $19.90 for the part & $21 for shipping. Also, at first I didn't know that the visors also came in a non-illuminated version so I bought the wrong one. If you are ordering make sure you get the correct version.
Install took about 15 minutes and now its good as new. It seems like the plastic piece connecting the wire was cracked to begin with. The new one is solid as heck and cant see how it could break again.
Heres some pics of the new one. posted in the post below
