Sun visor mirror lights mod...

My wife noted yesterday how bright the lights are on the sun visors to the point where it is actually difficult to see yourself in the mirror.
I was thinking of maybe putting in a switch to allow the turning of the lights on and off, but was also thinking of maybe lining the lenses with a film to cut down on the brightness.

Has anyone else noticed this and done any mods to make the lights more useful?

You could take out the lenses, or remove the visor and tape it off and spray it with this.

I'm thinking it would need more than just a matte clear coat to reduce the intensity of the lights.
I was looking at various window tints and also may try a frosted film, as that should adequately diffuse the light.

Lights are also tied to the courtesy light dimmer switch. Just turn it down.

Some vehicles may be wired like that, but my JT certainly isn't.

Even the owner's manual makes no reference of the vanity lights being adjustable with dimmer switch.
