Has anyone had the luxury of replacing a Driver side sun visor. Driving the other day and swing my visor to the side it broke. Looks like the arm that goes into the Windshield frame has a plastic sleeve that snapped. Does anyone know the extend of molding removal I need to do?

It’s not bad and there are plenty of YouTube videos. I just did both sides. But you need to get the reinforcement plates/brackets that are sold by several third parties. The replacement visors from Jeep are still just the same plastic and will eventually break again. I know the passenger side visor is about $60 because I just replaced mine. The drivers might be around $100 if yours has the HomeLink buttons. The brackets are only about $30.

EDIT: should be covered by warranty if you are still within warranty.

Robert, Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I am out of the warranty period and of course mine has the HomeLink buttons so it is the higher price. Did you get your visor through the dealer and the reinforcement plates through Amazon?

Yes. My driver side broke the first month I owned it so it was replaced under warranty. The passenger broke a couple weeks ago, so I bought the replacement visor from the dealer and the brackets on Amazon. Took maybe 15 minutes to swap out the visor and add the bracket. It’s 2 screws, 1 piece of molding and one wire harness.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Already order the brackets. Seems pretty straightforward based on the videos.

Added the brackets. Worked great. Did not have to purchase a new visor either. Saved some cash.

The brackets are the ticket. Both of my visors broke. i tried the plastic bracket that only screws in on one side, and that doesn't work. The one that's a "U" and not a "C" is the one that worked for me.
