How much do you want to spend? Viar 88p is what I got. Others have larger and more expensive ones than that, or using harbor freight ones.

I was using a Harbor Freight portable compressor on my old TJ many years ago. It was slow, but worked. I was ready to purchase a on board air system when I won a Smittybilt portable compressor at a Jamboree raffle. It is the bigger of their two offerings, 150 CFM I believe. It is surprisingly very fast at filling up the 35" tires on the TJ. So, I thought I would just use it until it blows up! (based on all the things I have read about Smittybilt).
Well, 8 years later and I am still using the Smitty on the Gladiator. Still airs up fast with 37" tires. I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a OBA system for the TJ because it would be gone when I sold it.
The big Smitty does get a little warm when I use it, but it has never overheated or shut down before all 4 tires have been filled. Powered by alligator clips to the battery.
I've been thinking of mounting it in the bed and wiring it to an aux. switch.

It took me forever to make up my head on what to buy. That being said, I just took delivery of the Smitty built unit yesterday.
