Yeah I have the black textured on Hydro Blue Rubicon with body match fenders and it looks great! I agree it does create some contrast.

Black texture painted top, body-color fenders on white. Had a choice for either all painted or mine. For me, it was just a little too much white all painted body color so I took the black top. I will admit that living in Phoenix AZ the white top would have been the practical way to go but who's practical if you own a jeep. LOL!

Black, 100%. I've always liked the "default" bi-tone color of a classic Jeep. Heck, a lot of car manufacturers charge extra for dual-color options. Jeep is probably the only one in the game that charges extra to make it all one color ?

For me, the black top (and fenders, to a lesser extent) make the Jeep "pop" - and as others have pointed out, helps break up the color. It's just the way Jeeps are "supposed" to look. But as with all things aesthetic, your opinion may vary!

I think it depends on your base color, but for me, on my nacho vehicle, I like the look of the black top and fenders. A bright color like nacho needs something to tone it down a little. But then, I saw an all nacho gladiator on the interstate the other day and it looked good too. I like the black fenders on my jeep though, because they tend to hide my scratches a little more. When I scratch the black fenders, it's just more black underneath. Unfortunately, the hardtop is just white fiberglass underneath. Ask me how I know ;)

I have to say for me it depends on the color. I like matching Nacho and Gobi but on some of the other colors, the two-tone look is nice. Or be an oddball like me, unpainted black fenders, Sting-Gray body, and Granite Crystal Metalic roof.

So who has your roof? Or did someone else switch to a soft top?

I think my Gladiator ran through the paint shop on the day Old Man Johnson retired and there too much beer flowing on the low-low during the retirement lunch?

Na, it worked out really well. Another board member has a Granite Gladiator and is installing a Go-Fast Camper that is textured black, so we swapped tops. My unpainted texture top will make a perfect transition from that camper to his truck with my top on, and I like the painted, but a darker color top on mine. As they say win-win . . . . well other than he is rollin' on 37s and looking awesome, so now I 'need' 37s on mine. :like:

To me colored fenders and tops look like shit.
More than that the tops chip easily if you remove them. So the painted ones always look even worse as they age.

Oddly enough, it works. But you’re making my eye twitch knowing they’re different grays.

I like the black top to break up the color match, and color matched flares. I hate the way the textured black flares turn gray over the years.

It’s really personal preference. Most of the colors I like color matched top and fenders.

IMO color matched fenders are a must…..the flat black makes the body look narrow and doesn’t give any contrast with the tires. Color matched fenders make the tires/wheels stand out more IMO.

I really like the color matched roof on the JT, for Wranglers I prefer black but for some reason I switched on the Gladiator. Fenders I like either way. My personal JT has black for both but honestly, I just didn't feel like paying more. But I got lucky with the Crystal Metallic or whatever the official color is, in most light you can't even tell. :CWL:
