Not sure how or why but I sheared off the threaded top end of my driver's-side swaybar end-link. This end-link came from the Mopar 2" lift kit bought and was installed by my dealer when the truck was new in February. I don't really off-road a ton (forest service roads, no Jeep trails yet for the most the part) and both dealers agreed it's a warranty part and that they will replace it for free but neither dealer seems to be able to order the stand-alone end-link or really help in anyway or form from a parts perspective.

My response is, well, if you can't get the end-link they you are going to have to supply me with the next available thing which is the lift kit or pull one from a lift kit. Pretty much no one is willing to even pull one out of a kit until they both verify they can order it as a stand-alone part. And round and round we go. I realize there are other end-link options for the lift height I got from the kit but at this point it's about the premise of the thing and why one might buy the Mopar kit rather than other more fully-featured options. They keep this Sh*t up and I will lemon law the thing after it sits in their lot for 30 days since it's not what I would call Freeway worthy right now. They'll have a blast reimbursing me for the after-market upgrades I'm sure.

Any thoughts as to what I can do to get them to actually order a part that HAS to be available from MOPAR? Any idea why neither of them can't seem to find it in their ordering systems? FWIW one dealer is in Renton and one is in Kirkland, Washington state.

Good luck on lemon lawing over an extended sway bar link, MOPAR or not.

I guess you could play chicken with them and see how long you can drive it before having critical failure leading to a wreck. Be sure to hire a good attorney.

Personally, I'd order a new one from Quadratec and move on https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/f...rqgFfV-TZ2S9sZpnsOp7d2QhEo3Fb1ZcaAujTEALw_wcB

When you say you sheared off the threaded top end of the driver's side... can you post a pic of that? The top of the sway bar link isn't threaded...

The title of your thread is misleading....it's not that they WON'T replace it, but that they can't get their hands on the part to replace it. Big difference. I'm wondering if you can call other dealerships and see if they keep the part or happen to have one....you could always purchase it and bring it to your dealership. But, seems like dealerships don't like keeping parts laying around anymore, they usually wait until they need one then place an order for it.

I don't see a lift in my future, but if I did, I would stick with Mopar because Dodge Jeep says that if they can tie the issue you're having to a suspension mod you did, they can and will deny warranty coverage. That's enough for me to stick with Mopar and let them do the labor.

try again. Both dealerships have said they CAN'T order it, not that it wasn't available or backordered. They are both claiming the part is not orderable as a stand-alone part. Two parts departments, two dealerships. They both said it was not a part availability issue (as in it's back-ordered) but that neither can order it stand-alone. (Their words, not mine).--It's their job, why the hell should I have to track down order and supply the part for them. I run my business and don't ask a cat getting a dental to supply their own sutures.

And again....won't is much different than can't.

And....you shouldn't have to go to that kind of trouble I described, but if you want it fixed, you may have to.

I just linked you to a $30 solution. I can take my sway bar apart in less than 2 minutes so it's not asking a whole lot of you. I'm sure if you approached the dealer they'd probably pop it on for you if you don't want to break a nail or soil your pantaloons. Maybe wear a helmet just in case.

Changed the title. Jesus. It's a simple part, I have a right to bitch if that simple part isn't getting replaced by a dealer for a product under warranty. A useful suggestion would be to post the Quadratec link, suggest I buy that and bring it into the dealer and make them fix it and reimburse me. Thank you to the person who suggested they had their dealer do the same (via PM). I wasn't aware the dealers would replace a part. And yes, I can replace it myself but whey the flying crap should I spend even 30 minutes doing this when the dealership I purchased the vehicle from is in my backyard.

good luck. the OP chose to argue over terminology with another responder instead of just order a $30 part that takes 2 minutes to install.

I'm still curious where the threaded top end of the link is...
I didn't bitch about terminology, a second poster decided to debate semantics of can't or won't, they are both being lazy and "won't" find me the part but I can gladly order it myself and do everything on my own.

About half of the threaded post is left, the bolt (I'm assuming it's not a captive bolt) and rest of the threaded post is gone, it sheared off about mid post as far as I can tell, I don't have a clue how that can happen but I'm guessing a shit install by the dealer in February.

A warranty part is a warranty part. I don't have the time and a garage and live in arguably the rainiest place in the US in the Fall.

Find the part number and order it at the dealer parts counter. Then call the service manager over when it arrives. Let them know whats up. If its raining swap it in the sales lot in front of the sales windows.

But it will take you ten minutes a couple wrenches and an allen key. Its cake.

So ,the dealer won't pop open a several hundred dollar lift kit too give you a $49 part that they cannot get separately?

Parts manager has to eat several hundred dollars to make you happy?

That's what I'm on the phone with the first dealer right now trying to figure out

I'm 100% certain they "can" order it, just that they "won't". If it's back-ordered then fine, I will wait. I do not understand why I have to order and supply a part that is publicly available from an OEM yet two dealers "can't".
