I think I have finally picked a skid plate system. I am looking at the Next Venture Motorsports aluminum belly skid with the UHMW material. Is anyone running this skid or have any input before i pull the trigger?

Thank you for your time.

I can’t vouch for this company, but I do have experience with UHMW. I have skid plates on my RZR made of UHMW. This stuff is tougher than Superman! I hit rocks and it slides right over them. No dents, or gouges. I’ve been looking for UHMW skids for the Gladiator. Get them! I’m going to.

Pulled the trigger. Shipping time is estimated at 5 weeks. I may have them painted or power coated before install. Worried about salt water getting between skids and UHMW and making issues.
I ll have mine powder coated. It’s a much tougher finish

I talked to them today, and am leaning that way as well. No salt water here, so would likely leave raw aluminum with uhmw. I’m waiting on them to get back to me regarding lift. Have a stock height rubicon and probably don’t want to lift it. Will probably add 35’s next year though. Has anyone installled this with a factory 2021 rubicon height?

Like a job? What's that?
Can't wait to see pics of this installed. They also don't mention anywhere that some lift is required for clearance, but the most similar design (Artec) does require some. I also don't plan on lifting my Gladiator, but would like more protection than the stock skids provide, especially for the trans, exhaust, and oil pan.

I just ordered mine for a 3.6 w/ UHMW. I waited until today to get the question about a required lift answered. The answer from VMS is that a lift is NOT required for a 2021 gladiator. Bump stops are required for JL’s, and possibly 2020 JT’s. They communicated that the 2021 JT does not need it as the motor mounts are different and don’t get in the way of the mounts. I also ordered front and rear diff skids from them. They look amazing. Ordered the diff skids in raw steel and plan to prime then paint silver to match the body color. I’ll post pictures when they’re all installed.

@Summitdan any word on your skids yet?
I have the diff skids, but am waiting on paint I ordered. Sitting primed in garage. Belly skids are probably two weeks out from the update I got early last week. They’ve made some improvements to the motor mounts for newer models and that’s the last step. The previous delay was supply delay on the UHMW. I’m very excited, but with snow here, it might be fun to do a driveway install. I’ll post install details and pictures when I get them.

I am curious it the rear diff cover would work with my Rockrawler cradle. Once you get it installed would you mind doing some metering for me?

No Problem. They’re super solid. The craftsmanship is 2nd to none. Here are some pictures of them primed.

Just toss them in the bed and bring them up to Ohio. I can check fitment on mine and help you install on yours before your long drive home :CWL:

I love it. I raise you with ā€œbring your fancy ruler to CO, and I’ll provide the beer while you line things upā€.

Has anyone received these? I’m getting frustrated as I ordered mine in early October. I wasn’t in any way under the impression that these were a pre production order, but the delay has been due to a redesign since November. I’m sure it will be great, but am starting to worry I won’t have them before spring.
