Anybody have plans to go? This will be my first year attending and I’m curious how it usually goes. I know manufacturers booths will be up, is there usually show specials like the Sema show? If so are there any typical deep discounts? There’s things I’d like to have for my JT but I’m always on the hunt to stretch my dollars.

planning on a stop at windrock so long as time allows

Did not go last year, (COVID) but went the two years before. Lots of people and really cool Jeeps and different builds. The wife and I enjoyed the surrounding National Parks and such and only spent one day at the show. Lots of things to see and get ideas on to do our builds, but I did not find a lot of deep discounts on equipment that I wanted or needed... But it was worth the trip from Louisiana for the several days we were there. I think it is worth going if only for the scenery of the smoky mountains and visiting Cades Cove in Townsend. There is a jeep outpost in Townsend by the same name. You can google it if you are interested. Neat T-Shirt and stuff shops that cater to Jeepers.

I am trying to work it out. I am not that far away and have been to that area many times. The park is one of my favorites places to go.

I avoid Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Servierville like the plague on weekends. Its always a parking lot.

I went, it was a good time, saw plenty of gladiators some decked out and some stock... lots of jeeps and people lol

I found quite a few new things I’m adding to my list of wants, I stopped at every lift manufacturer there was in the center and looked at what they offered. Several show discounts were out, it was a good show I thought, similar to SEMA on a much smaller scale.

I’m not sure if I should post here or start a new thread for ‘22, but the wife and I needed a vacation and TN seemed like a good idea so why not hit the invasion as well.

Anyone have tips or things to see or do while there? We’ll be there for the week, and I’ve been before but only for a couple of days. We’re staying outside of Pigeon Forge so hopefully can avoid the crowds when we choose.

ober gatlinburg is cool, usually when I go I spend my time out of town, I can see city streets in any town so I’ll take backroads and just cruise around.

You’re close to local tracks down there to wheel.

Or go into gatlinburg one day and just walk both sides. The distillery is a neat place to stop in and see. If I can give any advice if you like alcohol go to Tennessee Legends distillery, best store bought shine I’ve ever had. It’s on the right between knife works and pigeon forge. Beside a hotel.

Smokey mountain knife works and all the outlet shops in sevierville are always a stop on my list. I like to go into town at night and try a different restaurant each time. But I don’t usually do a lot on vacations, I go to get away and that’s what I try to do even if I go out to eat I’ll bring my drink of choice back to the cabin and just sit on the porch.

and if you’ve only been once before might as well embrace the crowd and go into town. Just to say you’ve been a part of it. And there’s a sweet go cart track that has some pretty quick little carts, I can’t remember the name of it but it’s on the right as you’re headed to gatlinburg... big place.

Good to know about the trails. Last time I went was just my dad and I on a 7 state, 9 day road trip in my JKU. So it was a lot faster pace than any trip I’d done before. It was a lot of fun and a good way to get ideas for future trips, but was obviously not much time to spend in each area. This time will be my wife and my parents. I do know I want to hit the Jeep Outpost as I learned about that place literally the same day I got home from the trip ??
I’m thinking we’ll hit Gatlinburg early in the week and hopefully see it before too many of us invaders come into town ?

I will absolutely be hitting you up as I dig into more info!

Thanks!
