Maybe the falcon extended bump stops then? Never heard about that issue with the metalcloak bump stops and never experienced it on my tj.
Seen some Amazon reviews that also claimed the Metal Cloak stops were stiff in the cold. Mileage varies I’m sure dependent on components involved. In hindsight, yes I’d try the Falcon bumps over the MCs.

So why go with upgrade bump stops over leaving the bump stop extensions off? Also do these aftermarket bump stops all require irreversible cutting?

22' JTRD with 1.5" spacers I used Fox 2-3 shocks in front and FOX 2-3" JKS spec ion rear (28") no bump stops front or back needed. Added more useable flex in the front by 30% and 25% in the rear.
photos are with 1" bumps. 2-3 Fox are

What are we looking at here? The front fully compressed and rear fully extended?

No irreversible cutting. I tried stock bumps and MC branded stops both with and without the extension pads. In my opinion the factory front spring are just flat too soft. Especially with a winch/bumper combo. Just my experience.
