The Lange Rack (Similar Style)

Does anyone make something similar to the The Lange Rack that goes over the windshield?

I need to carry a canoe w/ a soft top and all I've seen are the ones with a full cage/rack over the roof which I don't want (Gobi, Frontrunner etc.). This one is nice because you can easily pop it on and off as needed.

I've carried it with the Yakima Outdoorsman bed bars but the bed is so short you end up having to hang most of the boat over the cab and its not the most stable.

I was just searching this very topic for the same reason, I will have an ADARAC bed rack over a SofTopper, and want extra security to tie down long boards 14ft paddle boards) on the top front.

*Edited to add, I don’t need to spend hundreds of $$$ on a beefy adventure hoop like the ARS Rocklander front hoop. Think like a windshield frame-mount light bar, that sits a couple inches above the windshiel, with no light mounts.

The ARS is the only one I can find that's a standalone rack above the windshield, but it requires some cutting and drilling. My preference would be for a direct bolt on.

Yes. I have the ARS. With the cutting, it's minor. You only cut the tab from the outer cowl cover. After I cut the tab, I wondered what it's even there for in the first place. As far as drilling, the three inside holes will never be noticed if you remove the front hoop. The only holes that would be an issue if you removed the rack would be the two side cover holes. And that's because you have to wallow them out for the two bolts.

So yes. If you are looking for a direct bolt on, the ARS isn't your kit. It's a solid hoop though. All others I keep seeing on the market are the ones that touch the A pillar when mounted. I think it may be because that's what a majority of consumers are buying. Kinda sucks with options.

Hopefully more companies manufacture more options for the future. You'd think there would be more out now. JL has been around since 2018 and the JT since 2019.
