No Hood Vent With Factory-Installed Cold Air Intake

My new Gladiator arrived at the dealership today and I learned that there is no side vent on the hood with the factory-installed cold air intake. Is this normal or was there a mistake at the factory? I was kindof hoping I might be able to just plug in a snorkel without a lot of cutting work, but looks like no shortcuts here.
