Jeep does have 1:1 in the transmission. Note that this is including only the ratio between transmission input and output shafts.

With the transmission not in one of the OD gears (for the automatic, change to manual mode and keep it in 6th gear as 7th and 8th are overdrive gear.
For the manual transmission, 1:1 or high gear, or direct is 4th gear.

If you are in 5th or 6th in the manual, it's no longer 1:1
If you let the automatic shift beyond 6th, then it's no longer 1:1
JT stock differential ratios are either 3.73:1 (Overland, for example) or 4.10:1 (Rubicon, Max Tow, Mojave, etc.)

Back on Chad's correction of me - I still find it odd as with any transmission, manual, automatic, whatever, the easiest of all ratios to achieve is 1:1. You lock the input and output shafts together, all other ratios require other gear sets or a more complex cluster, for automatics, it's an added planetary set and clutch pack or band.

Piece of cake - slide that collar shown in the right of the pic forward, locks the input shaft (on the right) to the output shaft (on the left) and you have 1:1, or high, direct gear.

Took a drive on the highway...

Cruise control at 65mph..
Went to manual.

8th gear - vibes
7th gear - vibes
6th gear - vibes
5th gear - vibes
4th gear - vibes

Engine RPM changes obviously, speed same (65), vibrations remain the same exact intensity.

Has The FAD (Front Axle Disconnect) been checked? I know they've been the source of vibrations for other members...

Shifting into 4wd does not change the vibration or its intensity. I am unsure if the dealer has messed with that.

Yes, though the nvh readings say it's 100% isn't suspension related.

My wife finally was able to speak to a stellantis manager today. Seems like my buyback was approved, now just waiting for details and see what the process is like.

I'll be sure to leave a detailed of "how-it-worked" post.

I may buy a rubicon this time around. Better gearing from the factory.

Test drive a diesel if you get the chance.

if they thought it was the freedom panels then look on the bright side... this dealership is so inept that you're possibly looking at a lemon law for how long it's going to take for them to never figure it out.
Good luck with a lemon law claim...my Jeep sat in the shop for over 40 days and met all of the criteria for a lemon law claim in Tennessee. Got it back with no resolution and told Jeep customer service I wanted to file for lemon law. Two days later she called me and said my claim was denied. No reason given, no explanantion and the lemon law "people" whoever they are, refused to speak to me or give me a reason for denial, which is illegal, but obviously they don't care about legality. They told me if I want a reason, I need to get an attorney, which seems a little bit much just to get a simple answer.

Update Positive

STAR case was opened

Dealer was instructed to lift the truck and put the truck in drive.

The vibration was loud and apparent. TRANSFER CASE is the blame...

So next step is to isolate the transfer case and replace or something along those lines...

at least we are getting somewhere.

steve
What is a STAR case?

A star case is when technicians at JEEP help technicians at the local dealer.
Oh ok. Yeah I experienced that. My dealer called in two different jeep "engineers"...neither of them knew their asses from last Tuesday. The second one, claimed my Jeep is not bouncing at all and rides perfectly normal, even though it has bounced every single day for over 15 months including the day I dropped off the jeep and picked it up from the dealership. I requested to speak to the "engineer" and was told I can't talk to him.

For the most part they communicate via email and typically respond within 72 hours. It's a really bad business model if you ask me. Where have all the technicians gone???

Truck is back at the shop finally after reporting to my new unit in a new state for the USCG. The new dealer is in Massachusetts, they seem decent.

Let's hope they can fix this or get me a new truck. 4 days and counting in the shop attempt number 6.
