page claims increased protection yet they look significantly narrower than stock fenders at every point. Where are they providing increased protection? I love the improved clearance but what’s always held me back from pulling the trigger on your flares is that they were narrower than stock and provided less protection and tire coverage.

My common sense brain says you are very correct that they offer less protection. My seven year old brain says damn that white Jeep with red aluminum flares is badass!

They increase protection of the body. These things take a hit and dont crumple like the factory flares.

They do not add more tire coverage just add significant body protection when you rub up against a rock.

That is correct. Tire coverage at the widest is equivalent to stock, but approach and departure angles of the Overland Fenders are designed for effective trail performance.

i have slammed my fenders(MC steel) on just about everything. my doors have more damage than my body which is none. lol
