A few reference photos for anyone considering going:
Furnace-Pilot section:
downhill here, mud & rocks:
Turned around shortly after due to clearance issues; had to winch to get back up this spot:
Fincastle section:
did not cross the creek; came from the other direction. This shot gives...
Engine overheated with no other symptoms, other than the AC quit cooling.
2020 JTR, no mods, 25K miles.
How worried should I be?
...appointment at dealer 8/9, was nearby so I'm leaving it with them...
To be succinct: Would it be accurate to say that, roughly
stock JLU Sport = stock JTR?
stock JLUR = JT on lift and 35s?
JL lifted on 35s = JT lifted on 37s
. . . and so on.
Essentially, who's wheeling the JT on 35s with a 2" lift? Your thoughts on its improved capabilities, off road? Disadvantages?
Been wheeling my stock JTR in recent weeks (DBBB and KAT here in KY). Excellent capability in stock form, but the long wheelbase frequently is of course an issue...
Shopping for 35" mud terrains to put on my JTR (planning on a Mopar lift). Wanting to maximize height and keep it inside/at the wheel well.
1. Am I correct that I'm after a 35 x 11.5? Or I suppose the odd 10.5?
2. What are my options in this size? So far I'm seeing the Nitto Trail Grappler...
I have a camp property in southern KY that happens to be on the KAT route (well, half a mile off it). Have started doing day trips on the route. Three so far.
Day one:
Day 2
Day 3
So I guess this is a noob question, but how much water intrusion can I expect a few inches above the door jamb? I would assume it to be significant, but I see a lot of nice rigs rolling right on through.
Thanks, guys.
I have the Mopar steel bumper.
Seems like folks are running into fitment issues with winches/plates. Needing to grind/cut/widen holes etc.
Is there a winch/plates set up that installs readily? I'm leaning toward Warn or Smittybuilt at this time.
Now that we're finally finished with the nonsense of a Hemi not fitting in the JL/JT, which would you like to see offered? ...most likely to purchase? ...makes the most sense, IYO?
Curious to see what comes from Jeep as there will now be a direct competitor to the Wrangler. Obviously, it will be debatable whether a Jeep change was directly related to the Bronco, but that's part of the fun!
Anyone know specifically how these work? Do they negotiate? Does the dealer being approached have to do it (I'd think not)? Would the instigating dealer have the same amount in it as the other dealer? Is the buyer better off dealing with the dealer with the desired vehicle in the first place?
Common sense dictates not to, but is anyone thinking about it? Great deals should be available from dealer lots (if sales depts. can remain open, that is).
Let's play Would You Rather (which is a pretty good party game, though it's no Cards Against Humanity :)).
Assuming you had the choice for the same purchase price, would you rather have the 5.7 Hemi or the 3.0 Ecodiesel?
