just had mine done under warranty in October. They did order brand new hinges but they did not replace the hood, only repainted it. They showed me what the paint shop charged them and it was $3800. seems steep but I wasn’t paying so I’m not complaining.
I agree with robinja, just have Jeep do...
Have a Willy’s with a 1.5” teraflex up front and 315s on stock wheels, exactly what you’re proposing. You will rub at full lock but you really only lose a few degrees of turning radius, honestly only an issue when making hard u-turns. Not an issue with daily driving. I have 20k on this setup...
I got tired of the crazy high prices at the dealer and just changed it myself for the first time last weekend. Super easy process, everything is easy to get at. One of the easiest vehicles I’ve changed the oil on. It was $90 out the door total between filter (docs) and oil (Quaker state...
Yea, I figured it got tossed but I’ve got to much going on to argue about getting back a core I wouldn’t rebuild and use for another 3 or 4 years anyway.
Mine did very similar things when the aux battery failed. Randomly wouldn’t even try to start, then randomly starting no problem. I got “diesel pre heat in progress” and “water in fuel” messages (it was 80 degrees outside when this happened).
when dealer ran codes it showed no history of...
Got my recall done last week. 4 month wait on parts. Went ahead and had them replace the fuel filter while they were doing the fuel pump. Dealer wouldn’t give me the old pump as he claimed they had to send it back to Chrysler.
Been running 315/70r17s for 14k on stock 7.5” rims. No issues.
discount tire will mount them no problem, their compatibility chart says 12.5” wide is fine for 7.5” rims.
I have a Willys ecodiesel. I say go for it, I love mine. I have 34k on it and only issues have been the normal gladiator issues (dumbass start stop battery, rear axle seal leaking), nothing explicitly diesel related.
I take short trips (< 5 miles) all the time in mine, probably 75% of my...
yes you can. You’ll lose about 3 degrees of turning radius but it’s fine if you know it’s gonna happen, just don’t lock it all the way out when pulling a u turn.
Speedo on my Willies was off by 7% afterwards but it hasn’t affected drive ability whatsoever (caveat is that mines a diesel though).
Called dealer again on Friday. You cannot just be scheduled for this recall work.
First you have to schedule an evaluation where they determine what parts you’ll need (contaminated vs uncontaminated), takes several hours. After that you get placed in a queue, which at my dealer is already...
Called my dealer this afternoon. They said parts are on the way to them as of this morning but cannot technically schedule my service until parts are received and in their system.
Kind of the same. I scheduled an oil change for the 17th and told them to also put me down for my z96 fuel pump fix. Scheduling lady said “sure” but couldn’t confirm if they could actually do but put it on the service schedule. I’ll let everyone know what happens next Thursday.
I have 315/70s on my Willys. you will rub just before full lock. You will lose maybe 2-3 degrees of wheel turn. I’m running with no spacers and just paying attention when I do a full U turn, it’s not really an issue and not worth getting spacers in my opinion.
Had the same issue. Took it to dealer after a month of that message and they tested batteries and said they were fine so there’s nothing they could do under warranty.
Fast forward 6 months after that and the Jeep started intermittently not starting and given batshit errors (diesel preheat...
they did test the main battery and it tested OK. That being said, the aux battery also tested good 3k miles ago when I brought it in for the start/stop not working. I too suspect the main battery will soon shit the bed but because it tested good there is nothing they could do under warranty.
Just following up in case anyone else runs into this issue.
like everyone else in this thread it turned out to be a battery issue.
Ironically when the dealer checked it there were no codes in the system, but I Showed them pictures I took and they investigated.
Turns out the Aux battery was...
Thanks for the reply, that’s a relief to hear.
Disappointed it happened when it did, it’s 75 and sunny here, had the doors and top off and kids all loaded to go to the pool. I was also going by the speedway tomorrow to kick off Jeep beach but it looks like I’m heading to the dealership instead.
