No problems with the temp of engine. I was honestly always more concerned about the DEF freezing as it is designed to do so at only 12* F, which we are under for months at a time in ND.
There was an issue with snow packing the area that the electrical wires/connections are for the DEF tank...
12,500 miles with the DEF software screwing with my world 1 time, flashed firmware on National recall Y-81 I believe and all good since.
Also had the issue with the auto start/stop battery not charging correctly, but that is not a diesel specific issue.
Live in ND and it started life with 20+...
So from the all of 2 minutes of research I did it seems like the S.O. version of the Hurricane will only get you about 20+ ish more pounds of torque vs the 3.0L eco boost, but with a significant drop in mpg (and as I run 91 octane in my eco boost Ford 3.5 and 2.0 as well as the wifeās Volvo XC...
10 months, 12,000+ miles, multiple blizzardsā¦a Beast!!
Favorite vehicle out of 20+ Iāve owned to date, hands down.
First Jeep, wonāt be the last.
Need some of you veterans to point me in the right direction for a properly rated tow strap to throw under my back seat in case I need to offer assistance to anyone who might need a pull or a tow from my ā21 Willys Eco Diesel.
Having always used chains on the farm growing up, I know squat about...
Go back to the dealership, take a gas powered Gladiator out for another test driveā¦. Then get back into a diesel and take it for a drive on the same route, go home with silly grin on your face and try and remain calm while waiting for your new ride to arrive.
Clearly the DEF system sucks for...
As someone who has owned both a 2011 Ford Flex AWD Limited and a 2014 F-150 Limited with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine as well as a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium with the 2.0 L Ecoboost engineā¦. And Iām currently driving a 2021 Willys 3.0L ecodiesel Gladiator,ā¦. All I can say is Iād take either version...
I swapped the OEM BFG KM2ās for Falken Wildpeak AT3Wās after first snowfall in ND back in November and they have been OUTSTANDING .
Lived and driven front/rear/AWD/4WD in snow my whole life, and other than Continental ExtremeConti DWS tires on my SUVās that they fit on, nothing has come close...
Check the factory sticker on the frame when you open the drivers door. It will tell you the correct starting point, raise it lower to firmness of desired ride ā¦. Within reason, of course so you donāt prematurely ruin the tires.
I thought the BFG KM2ās were supposed to be strong 37 PSI, but I...
The new software update is supposed to have something to do with lack of DEF usage as I understand it. My truck has only used like a gallon of DEF in 5,000 miles, which is why it was originally scheduled for the TSB turned recall software update.
As for warranty, theyāll have a pretty hard time...
Someone in another thread just posted a mid-September build 21 that does require itā¦so that October timeline must be a cutoff for something that changed.
Didnāt mean to start a bash Diesel sessionā¦. Actually love my 3.0 and would take it every day of the week and twice on Sunday over the gas engine (yes, both in a Willys over same exact route when test driving and the difference was too hard to ignore).
I just want to make sure that those that...
