Your son sounds like a wise young man and an excellent copilot.
Go out there, get naked and get it dirty. You've got a great foundation and you can figure the rest out from there. I'm at 126K miles, and still figuring.
That’s a lot of pricey mods for something that’s never been wheeled.
Your best bet is to keep it and wheel it, or strip out the mods and sell them to enthusiasts and sell the truck in stock shape where you’ll have a much broader potential market.
Just passed 126K on my 21 JTRD. Absolutely love this rig. Cruises highways. Grunts up rocks. Crawls over or through anything. Handles bigger tires, lifts and loads without skipping a beat (or regearing).
Derated once from bad fuel. Limped for a bit, cleared the code and no problems since...
Below the front fenders and away from the air intake. That gives me about 40” if I need it, which I have for a few brief crossings. Otherwise, I try to stay below 3 feet.
Running Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs, diesel, 2-inch Mopar lift, AEV wheels, stock gearing.
With rack, awning and RTT I get 22 mpg on the highway. Without, 24. Either way average 18 around town.
I ran BFG 35s for the first 50k and routinely hit 24 mpg on highway. Jumped to 37s and it dropped about 2 mpg, but the switch came at the same time I added a rack, awning and RTT. I definitely blame those for the drop.
Never had a problem with 35s when it came to gear hopping or low-end grunt...
Just adding my use for some added intel …
I have a JTRD that spends half the year set up for travel camping with a rack, RTT, fridge and kitchen. I use a 10k Smittybilt with synthetic line because that’s what I had in my previous rig and I just moved it over. Mopar steel bumper. Mopar winch...
I had the same issue with my OVS awning. Got these brackets from Bush that solved the issue. They’re road and trail tested. Absolutely tough as nails.

Looks like you’ve got a great start and a great plan. You won’t need the regear. I’ve been running Baja Boss 37s for 75K from sand to rock crawling to endless highways. Never felt I needed more teeth. I did my first 50K on KO2s and love those, but nothing beats the Mickey Thompsons.
Curious...
I run an EcoFlow for house power (for a dual-zone Iceco, gear recharging and camp lights) so this may not apply directly to those with a Jackery, but as inefficient as DC->AC->DC conversion is, my EcoFlow charges much faster drawing AC from the Jeep inverter than pulling DC from the dash plug...
Running strong with a 21 JTRD just passed 122K miles. Started getting swirl valve code a few thousand miles ago, but no change in performance so far. Truck has been across country a few times, spends a lot of time remote camping or on trails. An absolute pleasure.
Been running the Mopar lift...
Drive everywhere. Off road as much as possible. Take the roof and the doors off whenever you can. This is a very rare machine. Just enjoy it, and figure out the rest as you go.
Last Saturday I got up at 4 am, drove 250 miles at 70 mph on interstates with adaptive cruise control and my heated seat and Sirius XM cranking and some podcasts on Car Play.
Then got to Rausch, aired down and did about 10 miles of moderate to rough trails, including Crawl Daddy; dragging over...
