What wiring harness are they talking about? JLs and JTs either come with the aux switches installed, or they don't. If you buy the Mopar aux switch kit, it will have all the wiring you need to install it.
I have the Mopar aux kit sitting in my garage, and it's the next project on my list. It...
A guy drilled holes into an aftermarket steel bumper on a Chevy and didn't install anything.
I am asking about the sensors in the Mopar bumpers man. I've tried looking man, believe me.
If you have any pics or advice, I'd love to see/hear it. I'm pondering embarking on this same mission myself, but I am getting the sinking feeling that it's a lot more complicated than simply drilling holes into the steel bumper and popping the sensors from my plastic bumper into them.
I recently swapped my Mojave plastic rear bumper for a Rubicon take off that I got from a local Gladiator owner. However, his truck didn't come with the ParkSense option, so there are no holes in the bumper for the sensors.
I was considering just using JScan to disable the ParkSense all...
I mean, maybe? If you get a two-channel unit (front + rear), and have motion detection on, it's extremely unlikely that the cameras won't pick up someone approaching your vehicle.
They may still get away with the gas, but you would almost assuredly have them on video for a police report.
There are a lot of good options out there. And believe it or not, it's easier to drown yourself in dash cam options than it is in Jeep options. I spun my wheels for a few weeks over-analyzing the crap out of everything, and eventually I started to see some similar trends emerge:
- Parking mode...
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but yea... Is there a list anywhere of winches and accompanying winch/grille guards that have no fitment or compatibility issues with the Mopar steel front bumper?
My wife loves her Mopar steel bumper, and she definitely wants a guard eventually; I just...
Do you have a link to what the jackers are? I was wondering if there were a way to have my seat tilt back a little more. I assume that's what those do?
I'm assuming the answer is no, but I figured I'd ask anyway.
I swapped out my bumper that had the parking sensors on it, so now this button on my console is basically useless.
Is there any way (like with JScan or any other app) to use this button for something else? If not, any other suggestions?
Well, for posterity if anyone else tries this, you get an error on ignition about ParkSense not available, and service being required.
I had an OBD plug to use with JScan ready, but apparently I need another security bypass plug, and I have to plug the OBD Bluetooth into THAT thing.
$45 to...
Thanks! Other than punching through the firewall, and invisible electronics issues that are a PITA to diagnose, it shouldn't be too bad.
I know future me is going to come back and laugh at how naive I'm being right now.
