The only time I use my map is to get an idea where something is when I'm already using google maps for something else.
It's not worth much to me. I'm happy to roll the dice that the map data is a couple of years old.
If you trade it, then it will cost you thousands to repair a problem that could be probably solved with a few hundred at a knowledgeable jeep shop.
If you trade it for another jeep, then you are playing right into their scam.
If you trade it for another make, then at least you are leaving the...
If they make a mount for your rig, then it's a no brainer over buying the OEM product. The premium they charge for their mount and jeep specific installations is very reasonable.
It could be adapted for anything. The key thing is it works off the vehicle's remote locking.
It would be up to you to figure out mounting, clearances, and interference issues.
My mind is already running around thinking about fitting this to a RLD.
They mention that this is based on the...
After watching that project farm video and seeing how well the $289 winch did, I'm hesitant to bother with a come along.
If you have an existing trailer hitch and add some snatch blocks so you can direct the force and possibly a winch cable extension, you will be into it all for $500 ish, but...
This simple product is the standard by which all others are judged. A good install is critical with this, so go to someone recommended or watch the YouTube vids and do it yourself. It is successful because of the complexity of circumventing it.
The larger tire will fit just fine. The "claw" goes through the hole in the middle, which is sized for the hub. So they are all the same size.
Bottom line no issues.
I do have some other suggestions though.
1) give up on the 5 tire rotation. The wheel and tire sit in a hellish...
I felt no difference.
I drove my truck roughly 200 miles after a dealer visit before I re-installed my Tazer and adjusted tire size. It was mostly highway, so it's the area where it would be most impacted.
Of course the speedo, cruise, and Odo were off, but the transmission shifted fine.
He uses the most consistent and repeatable testing methods I've seen in general.
though it appears he is't really knowledgeable about winches (he should have tested the HF Apex), that doesn't really matter.
The other thing that many here haven't really acknowledged is that the $289 winch...
I got them in the classifieds on jlwrangler.c0m. I paid $3000 for a set of 5 with 900 miles on them and am in the midst of selling the 5th complete wheel/tire/tpms sensor for $500. (its the spare, so its legitimately zero miles)
That puts me at $2500 for a set of wheels, new 315/70-17 BFG...
I also wonder if it is the fact that I've mentioned that I have worked as a tech and a service writer for a new dealer. One of the writers worked for a Subaru dealer at the same time I worked for a Subaru dealer and we reminisced about Ernie Bach and the craziness of early Subaru of New England...
My P0300 came back. I brought it right to the dealer and they got me in and out in 20 minutes. They scanned it and found that a PCM update is required. So we made an appointment for a couple of weeks out
I have to give a shout out to Lawless in Woburn MA. Yes, they are short staffed. No...
This is kind of funny coming from a guy who owns a torque monster motorcycle.
You are 100% correct from an engineering perspective.
But from a drivability and comfort perspective you are wrong. My wife's 3.0 turbo car cruises at just as low RPM as my Jeep on the highway. But if you dip into...
I'm not asking for that.
I'm asking for a vehicle that can maintain 70 mph on the highway without having to drop down 2 gears every time I start up a small hill.
This is why a mildly turbocharged gas engine would be great. Lots of torque to lug you up hills without having to rev it.
The...
So did you do anything to increase caster? The AEV lift will actually reduce caster from stock since it doesn't come with new control arms or drop brackets.
