Short answer is yes. You can get by without doing it but your odometer, shift points, mileage indicator etc will all be innaccurate.

Can you reprogram the abs with the Taser. I still haven't installed it yet and I'm not going to be adding 35's for a while but just wondering?

Well, your transmission is programmed based on a lot of inputs, but two of the main ones are your 1) current speed and 2) wheel RPM. When you change tire size, you're changing how many RPM are required to maintain a certain speed.

You don't have to reprogram anything about the transmission, but you do have to update the tire size so the transmission can work.

that's a good question.... I have European 35's ( not really 35x12,5r17)
didn't recalibrate last time and weirdly speedometer is perfectly right .... 60 on the dashboard = 60 on the street speed camera = 60 on google maps and Waze.

maybe its a great luck on this one....

does recalibration has an impact on transmission... I don't know ( very clever people here are way more qualified than me to answer to that) but I also noticed that last time after recal had the feeling that the gearbox decide to shift like a stupid silly bitch ...

I felt no difference.

I drove my truck roughly 200 miles after a dealer visit before I re-installed my Tazer and adjusted tire size. It was mostly highway, so it's the area where it would be most impacted.

Of course the speedo, cruise, and Odo were off, but the transmission shifted fine.

Did you just put the tire size per the sidewall designation or did you use a level and tape and actually measure it?

I didn't notice any differences before vs after except for the speedometer. I used the ECRI and entered the new tire size to get that right.
