Livernois tune, 91 tune way better
Still not 5.7 type of power, but acceptable
I don’t think the automatic makes up for the lack of power

I think the main "throttle response" issue is the shock protection that I notice between shifts if I don't gingerly let out the clutch on the upshift.

A pedal commander won't fix that (I tried).

Once I'm in a given gear and apply the throttle it seems responsive enough. From a stop at idle, the throttle is actually really touch in my opinion.

My observations at least.

I have a MT and am considering options on reducing the spongy feeling when stepping on the accelerator. That you have a MT and the pedal commander, is it your thought that the pedal commander made an appreciable difference?

Pedal Commander was a waste of money on my manual truck, since the areas where I want more throttle is where the truck is apparently going into shock-mode (right after an up shift if I let out of the clutch too quickly). Shock-mode overrides any inputs coming from the throttle pedal (whether from user inputs or the signal amplified from the PC)

The PC just made the throttle touchier when I hit the gas to move from a stop. It was already responsive enough there, so that provided me no benefit.

Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated.

Fi is the only way to increase power. This isn’t the 80s
Those throttle commander things should do your response?
it’s not underpowered, it’s just got a car engine and a go cart flywheel. Have to hit 4-5 grand.

I don't disagree but there's more to it than that.

There's noticeable power / throttle being cut specifically on upshifts depending on how abrupt you let off the clutch, compared to the same gear, rpm, and throttle input when already in that gear. I've tested it a bunch of times and am pretty confident, without having OBD data.

The software is being overly protective of the poorly designed clutch assembly.

I ended up regearing to 5.13 gears and putting in a Centerforce clutch. Totally different beast now. Still not fast but responsive and feels more powerful.

Yea that’s the “recall” programming I’d imagine. it sucks. I got mine after it was reprogrammed so I don’t have any comparison. I’m hoping they can undo it. But also, the flywheel and clutch assembly is VERY light for a truck. It’s also possible it’s just not working right. Can try to take it in (I know, it’s like volunteering to have teeth pulled). With a power complaint. As soon as mines out of warranty, I’m going to be replacing the clutch and flywheel.

mine is all effed up right now either with programming or a bad sensor someplace. It doesn’t know it’s a Mojave. I have all kinds of Christmas tree when I’m in 4lo. And the dealer is almost 2 months out on scheduling and will likely come back with “they all do that” cuz diag doesn’t pay.

Posted this in a manual trans rating thread too. Any real world experience with adding engine power? Any negative/positive feedback on how the 6sp manual trans handled it?
Mine handles the additional power of my Magnuson with no issues.

With the low end torque from the Maggie, I have plenty of power and can easily spin the tires in first and second gear when the road is wet.

That said, I have a Centerforce clutch. I had one of those factory clutches that was hot after every highway trip. I replaced the clutch at 2K miles.
