So I noticed something recently that doesn't inspire confidence. At low speeds in first and second gear, I am hearing sounds coming from what sounds like the rear diff housing. I did some digging, and found that Wranglers with dana 44's and the LSD were experiencing lsd failures causing...
The body lines of the jl/jt do not lend themselves to the sharp angular designs that are seen in a lot of modern aftermarket products in my opinion. Every one of these look like they were designed by teenagers who just walked out of the first fast and the furious movie in 2001 and were told to...
Added a Rubicon oem steel rear bumper and smittybilt defender rack. Waiting on my red rock rails, a tan soft topper and then Im done until the warranty is up. Are there any affordable tube fenders for the jt's? They all seem ungoldly expensive for what you get.
Just got my @pixiedecals in, and they look fantastic! Also, the smittybilt defender jl roof rack looks great on the jt for those are looking for an affortable tube style safari rack.
I've been swamped with life. I will go down the list and provide shipping quotes from least recent post first. I'm rural, so my shipping options are usps.
Call me tin foil hat-ed, but this will be the last generation of a jeep with a manny gearbox and a n/a v6/8. The control systems in the truck are complicated(on a base) but not impossible to troubleshoot. This will also be the last generation to not have big data analytics and evasive nanny...
To add, it appears that U Type Multi Thread Nuts are used throughout on the connection from the bracket to the bumper shell itself. I find this weird, as supporting the weight with eight torx m8 bolts does not make sense to me.
So I have found myself in an interesting situation. In the effort to save money, I found the shell of a steel rear rubicon bumper on ebay for ~150$. I thought to myself, how hard could it be to add the parts, rob parts from my sport bumper, and install it. Well, I quickly ran into an interesting...
Dragging oem plates, control arms, shock mounts, etc. and that's on oem skids with 33's. You'd do it way more with 31's. I have rock sliders, control arm skids, frame side skids, shock skids. And I've hit all of them.
Wheeling is a relative term, but a sport in its factory form is impossible to wheel imo. Even after 33's and a coil swap, I find my self dragging on a lot of intro trails. Which is fine, but then you need to invest in some armor. On 35's and up, no other new truck competes with it without...
I have an update to this, I should have posted it. I ended up swapping the coils all the way around, and adding a terrafflex leveling kit. The ride is much smoother, jeep is a lot higher up, however, im going to assume that the shocks are experiencing accelerated wear. Obviously, I would not go...
