This has been brought up a couple of times. I'm curious who all has the issue where your driver or passenger door clicks when opening? Mine started out barely noticeable to ridiculously clicking. I thought to hell with it ill just deal with it since I don't want to have them put a whole new door and paint it in fear the paint doesn't match. But I'm passed that point and it got me thinking how common is this issue. Someone pointed out that its caused by a bad weld point

Old thread but yea it's a broken weld. Started out on my driver side at 6k miles then my passenger side started. My back driver side has started to tick faintly. It's a design flaw and don't bother with a new door they are the same part and will just do it again. I tried the electric tape trick but it did not help mine. Just something JL and. JT owners have to live with. A parting gift from Fiat.

My doors have been doing it since day one lol. I'm assuming that they will eventually crack to the point of replacement correct?

I thought it was that slider bar and sprayed some lube in there. It worked for a while then noise came back. Didn’t know it’s a broken weld.

Is this like the old XJs and the rusted door mounts?

I’ve had great success using the 3 in1 product. Concerning the clicking, I liberally sprayed the 3 in 1 called window and track dry lube on that track slide bar on all 4 doors. Waited till it dried and liberally sprayed again. There is no dried residue as with other sprays. The doors feel great and no clicking noises.
