That's what I want to know: How to sort through the description of the sound an aftermarket muffler gives.
I don't want a loud sound, just - what? a little throat? I loved the sound my '71 MB 280SL made. I always assumed it had straight-through exhaust, what we used to call "glas-packs". It was...
There was speculation the the Gladiator would have to be elongated to provide a crumple zone to pass crash tests, in order to put the 6.4L in.
Ohio5pt7 was wondering why that was not necessary for the Wrangler 392.
I bought mine as a company vehicle, so my financing options were limited. No incentives for companies.
I wanted a 42-month loan, but they would have charged me 8.4%. So I had to go with 60-month, and got 6.4%. But I pay extra each month so it will be paid for by 42 months.
I have found that the halogens are adequate on low beam, but rather inadequate on high beam. So I added supplemental lights which I am still working on aiming correctly. And yes, I know they are not rated for on-road use.
Maybe for some. Not for me. They make driving safer and less stressful for me.
But anyway, they are options on the JT, so one is free to include them or not.
Opinions vary widely about the JT 6-speed. Here is mine.
The 6-speed: it is not close-ratio, it is to my mind a typical 4-speed, designed with the 4 ratios appropriately spaced for typical everyday driving, and two overdrives for better fuel economy and less engine wear at highway speeds...
This! ^ I don't care how good a driver I think I am, these features just add a layer of safety that I appreciate. Not to replace situational awareness, but to supplement it.
The ACC indeed makes interstate driving a lot less tiresome, but I use it on arterials around here as well.
I also find...
Au contraire! Just the morning, driving to work 50 MPH, in 5th gear (manual), on cruise, looking down at my instrument cluster I see 35 MPG "current". And, yes, I have an Overland with the stock highway tires, which I am quite aware is not the cup of tea for the majority of members on here. Even...
Just an amusing anecdote: In 1976, my grandmother gave up driving and gave me her 1956 Chevy 210. Still had original tires from when she bought the car brand new 20 years prior. (The tires had been re-capped a couple times. For you youngsters, re-capping was common in those days, and not just...
