Recently in the mornings when the truck is cold I will get a squeaking from what sounds like a wheel bearing. It is on rotation of the tire, doesn't seem to be on steering. Seems to be from the front. Doesn't really sound like brake squeaks but I suppose it could be. Any way to check the...
If I never got started on installing these rock rails they would just sit. So, off to work.
I was hemming and hawing about how to get these things mounted. They require drilling 20 holes into the frame, so I needed a way to get the thing very stable and snug. I decided to loop some straps...
Need to add some into my trackbar joint and wondering what everyone is using.
Second part... if I don't know what my installer used up front does it matter about synthetic or not, is it a problem like engine oil or not?
Fishbone liners sitting in my garage. Waiting on paint... but my JCR flares will be another several weeks so I have time to hem and haw. What's the forum think about liner color scheme given my truck?
The truck is white with blue accents. The JCR flares will be painted white.
The accents on...
Any experience with them? They meet a lot of my criteria... Bare metal, more classic look and nothing funky, no after thought lights.
But I'm a little concerned that they are too narrow on the back and will spit up rocks and debris.
I do have the narrow axle so helps a smidge.
Are the body matched flares merely black ones that have been painted, or do they have a different base texture? If I had some black fenders could I use some self etching primer and then body match and clear?
Seems like a good mix of what I am looking for, but all the pics have a number of bolts hanging down that seem like they would get demolished and rounded off when the sliders are used as sliders.
Is this not a real issue and I am reading too much into it?
eg:
I have a dog and his hair gets into the carpet and is impossible to get out. And since he is a husky, there is a LOT of it too. And while I am not allergic to dogs at all, he gets pollen on his fur and any of it swirling around can irritate me. It evades the mud mats easily.
And my kid plays...
Sooo. Crap.
Went to take the truck out of the garage and it wouldn't start. Weird. Tried other key. Nothing. Tried jump start, nope.
I do not get the 'No Key Fob detected' message
Neither key will lock or unlock the doors
It does not even attempt to turn over like a slightly dead battery...
Set of 4 no spare. On the truck for another week, but getting process started now. We'll provide detailed pics when taking off but for now you know what they look like and they're in good condition
San Mateo area.
No ship
No singles, set only.

Installed the front and rear MOLLE panels from @Invictus Off Road today. After laying it out and sorting the adhesive location it was very straightforward to install. Wiped down with alcohol and then used a vinyl applicator to make sure the velcro gets a good adhesion. Can really get the...
Planning out a re-gear and lockers. Had always assumed that I would just do front and rear lockers, but poking around Wrangler forums has me second guessing that.
From what I gather, if you do a lot of driving on slippery things like snow, mud, sand then it will be used heavily. But if you...
I know, endless gearing threads here, this one is a little more specific. I also know there's charts galore, but I want to hear real world experience.
Highly unlikely I will ever tow, and unlikely to go to 37.
Most of my driving is highway at speeds of 75-80. I am interested to know what...
Dawned on me the other day that I hadn't updated my policy for the work done to the truck, and if it's totaled I will never get the parts or money back. You can add upgrades to your coverage if you want to insure your parts.
Once the truck is on jack stands, tires off, bottom shock bolt out, sway bar off, brake lines moved, etc.
Instead of wrestling with the axle to get space for the shocks, once it's ready to get the springs out could I just jack one side of the axle tube up to make the other side droop even...
Sleep on the ground with the critters
Take longer to setup and break down
The tent and any mattress you may use take cargo space
RTT is generally speaking, more confortable

Just got off the phone with Motobilt asking about something unrelated, thought to ask about a set of fenders and liners for the JT. Definitely is on the agenda, if we get enough people showing interest it may be sooner than later. Not just the chop kid, full on outer fenders with matching...
