Damn I am jealous. Dad and I would make the 5-6 hour drive 2-3 times a season from the time I was 13 until mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s when I was 20.
This is one of the only reason I would even consider Ft Drum.

They were wheeled side by side. Before the unlimited wrangler the unibody Jeeps were the family wheeler…. Not to mention they shared a large portion of their running gear with their contemporary Wrangler counterparts.
None of the rigs of those days were great over 33s due to stock drivetrain...
Oh really? I have seen many heavily wheeled ZJ/WJ with D44a rear axles.
That being said you can’t compare the axles of old to the current iteration in strength. These d44s can live with 38s and 40s with more power, the older generations with spit ujoints caps with a tired 4.0 and 35s
It’s most certainly not corrosion resistant steel. Mine gas a few surface spots where paint was rubbed. I need to treat these prior to hitting with fluid film
Why is this always brought up? Most people could care less if it’s repaired correctly. Assumption normally is if a dealer does it that will be the case. Also, this assumes carfax shows anything accurate…
