I actually thought I had a wiring issue or interference because the shocks were “buzzing” when there is ignition power of any kind. Turns out that is totally normal as it’s the active valving and it changes tone with softness/stiffness changes.
So everything arrived and I finished up the install Friday but only put about 5 min of drive time on them before leaving it behind for the weekend. I can say on our crappy uneven country roads it is a lot more stable, less side to side tossing around, potholes (Ohio potholes) are minimized, and...
Yeah, they said the knurled ring is reserved for the "pro" version that adds in additional customization features that the active one does not have. I was a bit frustrated by the fact that the website even said it came with the Active version but more than one person there said the site is...
I see about the same mileage going from 4:10 to 4:88 but it’s a better driving experience. It shifts nicer and maintains 7th and 8th on the highway. Although you are staying in the higher gears, you are turning a higher RPM which eats into it maintaining the higher gear. You might be...
So I have some of the stuff installed, ran into an issue with the harness, it was made incorrectly and 2 of the plugs were “swapped” and the one that needed to be on the long set of wires was on the short set and vice versa. My replacement harness is being shipped out now apparently. Also...
No, I didn’t but I’m running Mopar beadlocks as well as a 1.5” spacer. They have a lower backspacing that stock wheels so I should be ok. Part of the ordering process was giving them the specs of the lift as well as the wheel/Tire combo (so the shocks can be set properly), and they didn’t seem...
Oh definitely, that was a concern I had as well but after seeing the work they do on OEM rebuild parts, OE parts in general, and their SXS/motorcycle racing suspension background, I am hopeful they are extremely well built. I think I am sacrificing a little shock length on them for my Rock...
Pulled the trigger on the E-Clik Active version, gets the automatic adjustable shock system but cant customize out f the box. I was told if I wanted to later, the "Pro" features can be added. I am assuming its a software upgrade and a cost. Hope I have it by this coming weekend....we shall see.
Reviving this dead thread, I actually just placed my order for the SDI E-Clik Active version this past weekend. It ended up cheaper for these using a military discount than Bilstein 8100 bypass shocks with a discount, slightly more than the Fox 2.5 DSCs but way less than the Fox 3.0s. They...
I have been watching videos and reading reviews all afternoon, looks like great shocks. I don’t need tuning so I’d want just the Active shocks. Actually not a need at all, it’s a WANT!
I was actually intrigued after you posted it and they seem to be quality built shocks. Motor trend had a great write up and I see lots of other positive posts on other jeep pages talking about how great the setup was.
Appreciate the input but I’ve never heard of SDI….. With zero knowledge of them I’d have a tough time dropping $3k+ on something I’ve never heard of. I’ll have to do some digging to see what’s out there on them.
Well, I was considering the Falcon aDAPT shocks as well but they have eliminated themselves by being a 7 month wait based on the email I just received from them. It’s too bad, seems like a good concept that nobody seems to be able to test out….
Yeah, that is where Accutune comes into play, valved for you right out of the box and then you play with the adjustments. Also one of the reasons I’m looking at Blistein, they have both compression and rebound adjustments and their adjustments are full hard to full open soft. I’d hope I...
Yeah, watched those and appreciate the input they gave but I struggle to give 100% credit to YouTubers since most are paid to run something on their jeep. That is why I turned to here, hoping someone not “given” these shocks could provide input. Im sure they are good but want real world, non...
So I’m looking into a shock upgrade from my Fox 2.0 shocks, looking at the Falcon 3.5 Adapt, Fox 2.5 DSC and then the Bilstein 8100 Bypass shocks. I’m really leaning towards the Bilstein shocks because of the compression and rebound adjustability as well as being a bypass type shock. Anyone...
I used the Teraflex leveling kit in my 2.5" Clayton lift and it was nearly dead on with just the 1' spacer (didn't need both spacers), maybe 1/4 inch of rake but it wasn't noticeable at all. If I had used the full leveling kit (both spacers) I think it would have been too much.
