  1. 2.5" lift question for a 600lb constant load Alu-Cab Gen 3 RTT'd JTR

Someone's gotta do it and get us keyboard speculators to have more confidence! I ended up ordering the Clayton rear brake extensions so will have it all here in time for next week's install. Can't wait!
  2. 2.5" lift question for a 600lb constant load Alu-Cab Gen 3 RTT'd JTR

I talked to Clayton today. They recommend for my use (220-300# constant load with 500-600 when overlanding or pulling trailer), to go with 3/4" spacer on the existing 2.5" springs and brake line extensions instead of 3.5" since I won't always have that constant max load. Thanks for the catch...
  3. 2.5" lift question for a 600lb constant load Alu-Cab Gen 3 RTT'd JTR

Thanks! I’ll see if I can get these ordered up.
  4. 2.5" lift question for a 600lb constant load Alu-Cab Gen 3 RTT'd JTR

I think that is consistent with most lifts - you get more than advertised. I thought that Clayton was one of the most consistent or "true" lifts in terms of gain in reading other posts. I also thought for a moment that you got more because it is non-rubicon but your signature shows JTR so...
  5. 2.5" lift question for a 600lb constant load Alu-Cab Gen 3 RTT'd JTR

So I've got an RLD cap on mine and plan on towing an Opus OP4 next summer on and Offroad. I am putting on a 2.5" Clayton lift as well and just today was wondering how much rake (if any) will be left with the 160# cap plus 200# tongue weight plus ~200# of gear. I already have the 0.75 pucks on...
  6. Regearing for towing (sometimes) and driving in Colorado: 4.88 vs 5.13 can you share experience?

Nice JT setup! I'm actually typing you a question about your rear springs in your other thread but I'll do that over there in a moment ;) I'm taking mine to Tanner 4x4 here in the Springs for the lift and regear so I'll let you all know how it goes!
  7. Regearing for towing (sometimes) and driving in Colorado: 4.88 vs 5.13 can you share experience?

Wow - got a quote from my dealer (yeah, I know, I know) just to see what they'd charge for gear install. Took them like 3 days to "put the quote together"--clearly they don't do it very often at all. While they said it would be done by certified installer with genuine parts (except aftermarket...
  8. Regearing for towing (sometimes) and driving in Colorado: 4.88 vs 5.13 can you share experience?

I’m going to do it at Tanner 4x4 here likely. However wanting to get a quote Monday from the dealer just for giggles.
  9. Regearing for towing (sometimes) and driving in Colorado: 4.88 vs 5.13 can you share experience?

Yeah I think I’ve answered my own question and your responses so far confirm it. I believe my best solution is found with the simplest option: 5.13. One set of wheels, power whether I’m towing or not. 4:88/5:13 is 5% difference so most likely less than 1 MPG difference. I’ll leave it open...
  10. Regearing for towing (sometimes) and driving in Colorado: 4.88 vs 5.13 can you share experience?

I've read all the forums and now have myself second guessing! I've got a Rubicon Launch Edition. Currently stock 4.10 gears and 37" Patagonias (on spacer lift). I live in Colorado Springs and do a bit of wheeling in the mountains around the state. Next spring we are buying an Opus OP4 trailer...
  11. Rock hard 4x4 rock rails installed

Just got mine on today and had similar experience. If they felt tight I gave it a little heat gun but didn’t feel like that made as much difference as just working them back in a turn or two before resuming the out again. No issues. I did however have to drill nearly all the pinch weld holes...
  12. Rock hard 4x4 rock rails installed

Well I just ordered mine. 2-3 weeks and maybe party time then ;)
  13. Rock hard 4x4 rock rails installed

Keep us posted! I’m going to be doing mine in the next month. I’m also here in the springs!
  14. On Board Air: Pre-Fab’d mounts/DIY & Chucks (Where & Why)

Sent a PM yesterday. I’m curious how the plumbing/electrical runs for both back seat options. With the kid seat in the back not sure the under seat option is feasible for me.
  15. How do I get a CB/HAM microphone mounted here? Has anyone drilled it?

Sorry for the late reply but just wanted to share some updates. I did end up taking the plunge and drilling out the two holes to install the Magnetic Mic. Had a bit more challenge in getting the trim off (didn't damage anything visible) but did slightly damage a clip retainer on the back side...
  16. On Board Air: Pre-Fab’d mounts/DIY & Chucks (Where & Why)

Any updates? Still trying to figure out best solution. I have a 10# power tank mounted in bed, but trying to figure out how to get an ARB twin in there or in the cab as a backup (or maybe future primary).
  17. How do I get a CB/HAM microphone mounted here? Has anyone drilled it?

The flat area between the rear defrost button and the grab bar is the ideal place for a microphone mount. However, I've yet to find a drill free solution. CoolTech is close but I don't want the microphone up high over the vent and I want to mount a magnetic mic. There is also JeepUniq but...

  19. 37” spare tire - list of tires that fit under the bed

If you're not going to put it into your 5 wheel rotation, then why not buy a cheap aluminum wheel with the correct offset and a tire with a "known fits" dimension that is close to your 4 daily driver tires so then you won't have to worry about fitment, etc. You're only going to use it when you...
  20. Colorado or Front Range Gladiator owners

I believe the Gulches are all open too. We did Metberry last weekend. Likely going back to camp there next weekend.
