Thanks for all the feedback, life is full of continuous learning and this is another one of those times. Running 15W-40, 30W and 40W in our older diesel engines, I can understand the higher pressures but I didn't count on the thinner 5W-40 doing the same. Believe the tighter tolerances with...
If you pull the trigger on it, it's less expensive now than waiting till 30k miles, which is the position I'm in. You'll likely get pros and cons from both sides of the fence. From my experience, I figured I would wait and see what types of issues might arise while under the factory 3/36. Now...
Well I think I barked too soon. Pressure was 80 lbs at idle on a cold start this morning. Engine up to temp and still pressure high, but what I failed to look at last night was oil temperature, D/A!! All is good, with oil temp the same as coolant.
What oil pressers has folks seen after a fresh change? I might be jumping the gun here but changed oil using Pennzoil 5w-40 euro platinum and Mopar filter. With engine warm, saw about 25 - 27 psi at idle, 2k rpm was 80 psi. I don't recall seeing those types of pressures before, course I'm doing...
The opportunity finally came to get my $85 Walmart Kenda's installed. They fit on the factory wheels and seem ok so far, though the set up is like. The tires are my belly and the wheels are my pants, enough said. The spare did fit under the bed, again a tight fit. Hopefully some great Black...
I have this same unit, though when I bought mine about 15 years ago, it was less than $1k. Has 3500lbs axle, tad over a ton rating and 15" wheels. A great versatile trailer for any size truck.
I had A/T's on mine, but I'm sure mudders will be fine as well. I was intimidated about the sand, who wouldn't be for most of us are more familiar with rock, dirt and mud. Was folks out there with those AWD SUV thingies, with street tires, even saw a fellow in a Chevy 2wd cruising around. If...
Less than 1k before hitting 30k, do I get the extended warranty, yes or no. Have had plenty of issues with this truck, more than ANY other vehicle I have ever owned, a/c compressor failed, catalytic converter replacement, main battery, rear glass leak, etc, etc . Yet I still look at aftermarket...
Bummer on the fishing trip, all the reason to go back and try again. We stayed parked for a couple hours, a few folks fishing in the area, only thing they were catching was a buzz. No permit required to drive on Corolla beach. The others, a permit required about April through first Saturday in...
Just there this past weekend and was our first time on sand, nothing to it. Running 285 Wildpeak AT3, lowered pressure to about 18psi, and 4hi. Areas there at the Currituck Lighthouse to air up & down. This time of year you can also hit the sand at Kitty Hawk, Nags Head and Hatteras.
