I am not the average Jeep owner. I RELY on my truck every week. I can't sit around for months waiting for mechanical issues to be resolved.
As far as the tuning goes, I do YT reviews and pay for all my parts so it's no big deal. Plus I sell them and pass along the fun to the next guy.
Once...
By "yesterday" you mean the last 125 years, right? ICE hasn't been around this long without reason. There isn't a better way. I wouldn't bank on full electric in whichever vehicle you want anytime soon.
Not sure I agree. I've had V8 trucks from GM, Ford, and Ram. This Toyota 5.7 feels stronger than them all. The only one close was the Ford 5.0 Coyote engine. It's also getting 15 MPG in my weekly commuting which is higher than everybody said it would do. Did I mention it has true dual...
The typical timing cover oil leak. It eventually gets worse and worse. Mine was to the point that it was dripping off the oil pan bolt heads when I finally got an appointment from them to bring it in.
If anybody wants a nice Hydro Blue Overland EcoDiesel with all records, mine is for sale now locally. This would be a great Jeep. It's already got a long list of nice upgrades. Steer Smarts track bar, aux lights, winch bumper, 2.0/0.75 lift, 34x12.00 Yokohama M/Ts, Gator bed cover, and lots...
Highest mileage I've heard a guy report is 80,000 and that was a few months ago. I think he's in sales or something.
You guys who have "no issues", have you looked under your truck for oil leaks?
Side note, if anybody wants a fully loaded (minus leather) Overland EcoDiesel that already has a...
When people say "6'4" here, no issues" what they really mean is "there are issues but I live with it because it's the coolest truck on the road."
Make no mistake about it, the interior of the JL/JT is TINY. A guy over 6' tall will find that their hair brushes the sport bar. Their knee will...
Side note, I have two unopened jugs of Motul X-clean 5W40 which is arguably the best oil you can get for these engines that I don't need. I'd ship them out for $50 if anybody wants them. That's less than half price.
Those idiots "couldn't find" the paperwork I had slid into the pouch in the packaging. Sigh...
Anyway, 6,300 HARD miles on this oil cycle with the Quaker State oil. Amazing results. This is a very good oil!!! And I confirmed two weeks ago that my Walmart does still sell it for $18.97/jug.
They don't. Which is why their sales have been sliding for years and even Ram now sells more trucks than Chevy.
If GM considers their engineering to be "professional grade" I'd sure hate to see what they'd consider "contractor grade". My God... :surprised:
1) These are targets set by the government. They won't actually be reached because they aren't reachable.
2) As folks have already said, the 40 MPG number is for the "fleet average". So you can still have things like the Ram TRX, as long as you've got a small car that can offset it in the...
Good to hear your GM is doing well. I've seen a lot of issues with those in the owners groups. Heck just last week a guy had a total engine failure at 140 miles. Not a typo. 140 miles. He didn't even make it home from the new purchase. Typical GM engineering....
