Truck stop DEF: Dirt cheap. Have no idea where it came from, how long it's been there, or what's in it.
Box DEF from a store: Twice the cost. Know exactly where it came from, how long it's been there, and exactly what specs it meets.
I'll mention that on the Ram forum, a member claims he's...
Since this thread got resurrected, I should correct this. The 4xe in the JL is a 1 kw per mile vehicle on pure EV mode. That's actually $0.13 per mile on average, depending on your local utility rates.
The JT will see fewer miles of range unless they drastically alter the battery pack. So...
12-15-21: Got a call today. They said they put dye in it, but still don't see the dye. Going to drive it some more and see if the dye shows up. I don't think it should take long because as you can see in my photo above, it's leaking bad enough to drip off the pan bolt heads. Actually, it...
Well, 90 minutes from Nashville is Turkey Bay OHV area which is located as a part of the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Best trails you'll find anywhere in the entire region, and plenty to see and do while there also.
Side note: they put me in a 2019 JLU with the 2.0T eTorque engine as a loaner. First experience with these, so I'll shoot a video with it. :) But, this thing will FLY. I have to take back everything I've ever said about this powertrain. It's better than I expected. I reset the MPG display...
That was November 5. This is December 13 and I'm FINALLY getting to drop the truck off at the dealership to get this resolved today.
Now, here's hoping they don't have my truck for a month!
I had a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel through two winters, traded it for $4k more than I gave for it. Brought home this new Gladiator EcoDiesel for 6% under invoice. Now six months later I'm being offered what I gave for this JT to get back into a full size again. It's tempting!
I love the Jeep. It's...
This.
I bought a Scan Gauge that plugs into the OBD port and allows you to monitor things that the dash just won't tell you. What I see is that turbo temperature after driving on the highway will fall to below 400F in 60 seconds or less after parking. If I've been driving around town, 30...
Top two nuts are easy. Bottom two are both in places where sockets barely fit, wrenches can't turn, and fingers can't reach. I ended up pulling the fuse block out to make a little more access. Had to use the stick magnet to recover dropped nuts multiple times. Also needed to pry the PCM out...
Thanks to Green Diesel Engineering, we have since learned more about this. The Ram and the Jeep actually both make 442 lb/ft in all gears. The Ram is programmed to allow up to 480 lb/ft ONLY in 6th gear under certain situations. They did this so they could technically claim best in class...
I just sent AFE a slightly "firmer" email asking what is going on, and why are they selling products that don't exist. I mean, 8 months which will probably continue to get pushed back is ridiculous for aftermarket parts.
I went 42 years without ever seeing a bent frame on a pickup truck. Ever. Now in the last 12 months I can't swing a dead cat without hitting a photo of a truck with a bent frame or seeing one in person. WTH is going on?
38" tires?
So I assume then that you're getting new wheels too that are 17x8.5" ? I would not run 38x12.50 on the stock 17x7.5" wheels. The wheels are too narrow. You really need at least a 8.5" width wheel, and 9.0 to 10.0 width would work also.
In that case (8.5" wide wheel) you would be...
Apparently there's a 0W40 version of the T6 that is low SAPS and honestly would work great in these engines, although it doesn't meet spec and it's virtually impossible to find at retailers. But I'd wager than the low SAPS 0W40 Rotella T6 would be the perfect oil for these VM diesels in...
