Keeping it on topic for a moment: Not a damned thing but look at it parked outside begging me to buy something for it.
Better than cutting it i suppose!
RIght? Had i not had several big fires to put out today i'd have easily gotten her list done. And after i posted that previous i thought i...
Unfortunately a fire storm dropped in my lap today and I didn't get a chance to even drive the Jeep let alone do any work on it. I've been glued to my desk since this morning and am just wrapping up. Naturally I didn't get any of the honey do list done today either and have caught hell since Ms...
I'm Gen-X and in sales. I do the same.
I'd rather get a cavity drilled than deal with the schmucks at the dealership. When I bought her Bronco Sport the finance guy swore up and down we were buying a Ford extended warranty. Come to find out when i got the first statement from FoMoCo credit it...
As someone who has been active in legislative advocacy for my industry for nearly a decade, it's truly disgusting when you see how the sausage is actually made.
Which is part of why at the end of the year I'm stepping down from the various positions I'm in.
Thanks, i couldn't recall who said it but i remember it being said.
Carmax had new car stores up until a couple years ago but them getting out of CJD may have been TARP-forced.
In spite of industry claims that it benefits consumers, the closed dealer franchise model is a state-sanctioned...
Yesterday I took my doors off for the first time, slapped the Coyote mirrors on and took Ms. Bourbonrunner on an afternoon date instead of "fiddling with your Jeep."
Which in retrospect sounds kinda naughty.
Today I plan on starting my back seat non-delete and wiring project. Wish me luck.
You might be onto something. Tesla has duked it out in court to end the state-sanctioned monopolies and had moderate success with direct to consumer sales in locked states like North Carolina (moderate in that the state tried to legislate against Tesla to protect the franchises, then limited...
Yup. They move a little too fast for their own good.
That said, I'll sell another car to Carvana but wouldn't buy one through them. I sold them my C3004M at the height of the crazy used market during Covid and walked away with a check for well more than I'd expected. They had it back up on the...
I hear you. I used to run Hella 55w's on the ARB on my Tacoma. About $50-60 when one got chunked by a rock but such is life. When I had to replace an OEM fog on my e46 it was about $175 and I was irritated but is what it is.
But $600+ EACH? I'm not sure who'd I'd be more angry at: The guy who...
A pair of LP6's with wiring harnesses are just under $1250. Amber lenses and rock guards are another $100. That $1350 gets you just under 50K hours total warranty assuming you bought them from a legit seller.
A pair of Road Shock 6's with the add on 2 year warranty and harnesses is just under...
It really is a game changer. And it also opens up a good option for me to run a dash camera. The one I have on my other car needs both a constant and ignition line. I'd much rather pull that than an add-a-fuse.
I started a thread on my aux wiring setup but this is going to take a ton of time...
I removed the Quadratec running lights the previous owner put on and installed the newer Oracles. He put them below the camera but I think it looks silly in the middle of the grille. Only complaint is the plastic on the Oracles is very thin. I accidentally cranked down too hard on a zip tie and...
Welp, I learned something new today. I had no idea there was an interior pigtail with an additional direct and switched 10a lines plus ground lugs, too. You've just made my wiring project that much easier- thanks! I was dreading running the power lines through the firewall.
FWIW I've read in multiple places NOT to pull power from behind the dash. It can really screw with the CANBUS.
Since the power cable for the MXT275 is fuse protected and the unit is switched internally why not just run direct power to it or at least a fuse-protected cigarette outlet?
Edit: Or...
I prefer Inca to Goldilocks too.
Ms BourbonRunner saw an Inca recently and asked "Why don't they make Gladiators in that color now? Its so cool."
I concur. There's so many great colors Jeep offered in the past that ought to make a comeback.
