I've only had my Mojave a little over a month, but probably not.
I had a 21 JT Sport Max Tow which only had a rear LSD. I put a Mopar 2" lift under it and 33" Rubi take-off wheels and tires. It would go anywhere I wanted to go here in the high desert. I do avoid mud if I can help it.
I...
Thought I would bump this again with my 2 cents. I put the Mopar lift LCAs on my otherwise stock Mojave and I've driven it enough to get a feel for it.
I like it! Driving is much more relaxed. The twitchiness in gone. If you're on the fence for this I can recommend.
Out of curiosity I...
Having owned a 19 Ranger with the 2.3L EB and a 23 Colorado ZR2 with the 2.7L TurboMax I am just not interested in another highly stressed turbo 4 cylinder, especially in a Gladiator.
Now a 5.7 Hemi on the other hand..
Nothing special. My JT is garaged. I'll start it and let it run until the fast idle drops, usually 30 to 60 seconds. I figure that's long enough to let the engine and transmission fluids circulate.
Then I'll pull away and take it easy until things warm up.
Got to love a good oil thread.
A few years ago before I bought my 3rd Gen Colorado ZR2 I did a fair bit of research on the 2.7L TurboMax. That included watching a few interviews with one of the GM engine design engineers on that project. Here are some comments he made during one of the...
I ran 5w-30 in my 19 JLU and 21 JT, both with the 3.6L PUG. I did not notice any difference in drivability, temps, oil pressure, etc.
The engines seemed a little quieter. I liked having a little more film strength. I would run it again with no worries. I'm considering the new M1 0w-30 ESP...
My first Gladiator was a 21 Sport Max Tow. I stuck a Mopar Performance lift under it and added 33" tires on steel (spare tire) wheels. I loved it. It would go anywhere I was brave enough to go and towed a 3k lb little travel trailer just fine. I always regretted trading it in and that is...
Well, I had a 08 JKU and a 19 JLU. Since then, I'm on my second JT. A Mojave I just bought a couple of weeks ago.
It's a little longer than a JLU but I don't think it's any worse. It's very maneuverable, still fits in most parking spots.
Back seat has more room than most other mid size...
Maybe. We didn't run ours that hard. We were city boys. I know some state troopers that may disagree with you though. Rural state troops went everywhere fast.
Ahh, the Crown Vic. They were my office for almost 20 years. Very reliable. The only time I remember a killed engine was when a Sergeant drove one through a big water puddle and hydro-locked the engine. It was a new car too.
I tend to agree. I started doing regular UOAs in 2008 on a then new JKU Wrangler with the 3.8L engine. They had a reputation on the JK Forums for spinning main bearings. I ran 5w-30 in it and did UOAs at every oil change. Had it 10 years and over 100K miles and it was still going strong when...
Well, I was going to name my new Mojave "Spartacus". You know, because it's a Gladiator.
A friend told me a Gladiator reminds her of a LEGO Truck. That stuck with me, so now it's name is LEGO Truck.
That was cool. I would do that. Find any artifacts at the end?
My son drove a haul truck underground for awhile at a palladium mine in Montana. It was killing his back so he moved to processing.
Funny story. When he interviewed for the job they put interviewees in a side by side one at...
I suspect you are correct and those are the reasons Mopar went with a full torque value on the kit. I used that torque when I installed the kit on my 21 JT. Drove it for a couple of years with no issues.
I found a later edition installation sheet, dated 07-11-23. Torque remains 190 lb ft...
Installed the slightly longer Mopar Performance LCAs on my Mojave.
Discovered that at 70 some years old I don't quite have the ass any more to pull 190 lb ft of torque while laying on the ground under a truck, not to mention getting up and down numerous times. Got it done but what a PITA...
