FYI was not full boost over that period. But there was definitely boost.
Remember 7% grade, 7 miles
here is with applied torque / speed. This shows I was nowhere near full throttle.
this shows from on-ramp to exit.
Went and pulled some data logs while towing this AM. These numbers will SHOCK any diesel owner... I totally understand what is happening now, and why we are all seeing different oil / coolant numbers when derates happening.
Here was the test.
1. Load up my camper and truck and take it to a...
Ok! Update to the dashboards a bit more including soot level, and intake temps.
I have noticed after the Jeep shuts down engine at traffic lights intake temps jump way up.
I’m betting many of the derates are air cooler heat soak.
I am going to do some research on meth injection / using washer...
If anybody that can tow a load sometime soon, do so and log the data, (export in CSV (v2 form)) from the APP, we can analyze it, and determine the markers for when a derate occurs.
I am going to hook up my trailer at some point this weekend and drag it up I-70 which will absolutely cause a...
Awesome! I just made a few tweaks to one of the dashboards.
I also got to monitor an active regen! EGT's and DPF inlet spiked quite high! (normal but it was great to see!)
This is the new Dashboard link, Instead of fuel rail pressure, I changed to a Boost Gauge and 'Actual Torque'
This also...
Yeah I'm starting to question if the air cooler (intercooler) is heat soaking for some folks, on hot days when auto start/stop is enabled. and if the intercooler efficiency could be improved.
Thanks! Hope a few others can use it to start to diagnose what triggers the derate! Many cases I have heard of derates occurring post shutdown which indicates heat soak, but the oil / trans / coolant temps do not align.
I am really starting to wonder about charge air temp (post intercooler...
I have been working for several hours to build out some nice temp dashboards to monitor when you tow. I have them mostly dialed in I think...
Go to Amazon and purchase a VeePeak OBDCheck BLE+

Hey there! I am working on a set of gauges for the ecodiesel that works with the car scanner app and an obdII Bluetooth adapter!
things are going well but I’m curious about some numbers.
I’ve got the boost gauge all configured and can clearly see derates with the torque gauges.
I’m wondering...
I have an ND Miata lowered, club, coilovers, and bunches of other stuff. It barely makes it over a speed bump. ? I always thought at stock height you could put some bigger tires on it.
but that’s what the gladiator is for!

Something like that attached to ports described above with hoses wrapped in a heat resistant protective material then mounted to the bottom...
Man! Tough that this is happening for you, also yes, curious if your diesel particulate filter (DPF) is getting clogged up (maybe an active regen (Dealer invoked) is needed?
thanks for the info on the 35’s
Yeah, that’s not what I’m seeing with my JT. I’m seeing much higher oil and coolant temps before a derate.
Are you running hot on your trans? Also with the 35’s are you bouncing between 7/8 a lot?
Fyi, I’ve had mine to 12100 ft altitude and don’t see derates.
Your coolant is likely at 220 in...
