Not guaranteed to be programmed out of the box. I put a mopar TPMS on my matching spare and it needed a trip to the dealer to initialize it to register with the truck.
all seems to be related to the lockout for the start/ gear position…. Can’t start without foot on the brake, can’t put in gear without foot on the brake. Problem when it gets cold and connections loosen up.
check that all fuses are seated. Check that connection at brake switch is not loose...
I was just noticing this myself while monitoring the battery voltage during start/stop… goes from 13-14+ when engine running to stepping down to 12.2 - 12.3 when ESS kicks in. Drops a bit further when the engine cranks, but only momentarily as the charging kicks back in when the engine starts...

the cover allows the pan to be sealed which is just a bonus not having to worry about the oily pan exposed to debris between uses.
Completed the screens for the air intake - grill removes easily with 6 push pins, tilted the grill toward the front then disconnect the camera spray, then the camera connector at the lower right. Pull forward to disengage the 6 clips at the bottom And set the grill aside. Use a T-27 to loosen...
If you haven’t got one already gathering dust in your trunk, you can do it yourself with a $10 - $20 suv/car trunk cargo net from Amazon … essentially the same dimensions as this $90 item.
Thanks for clarifying- I was trying to over simplify it (and hope I got it right) by isolating the main battery completely so those confused by the dual battery issue would know they were just charging the Aux.
That is the “just throw money at it” solution. You should charge each battery independently then determine if either is not taking or holding a charge before replacing.
