That was my thought too… from the source with the pre drilled holes in the cover and include the nutserts would be preferable to having to drill and use sheet metal screws.
There’s a lot to be said for the rear camera on the JT - the zoom feature for alligning the hitch is fantastic. If you could mount that camera on the front bumper and have a switch to pick which one you want to energize, all your problems would be solved!
Those magnetic hitch alignment rods might be the simple answer… hook up your plow, set the rods on the bumper and the plow, mark those locations for reattachment for the next storm.
for under $20 it’s hard to go wrong. Works for the front trailer hitch too.
the mirror idea is also a good thought.
If it wasn’t @JeepCares posting the TSB, another member would certainly have done so… it’s just a matter of time that someone who has complained on the forum of the problem takes their. jeep in for service and complains about getting wet and gets the TSB applied - then shares their experience here!
That’s what I was thinking too - easily removed after plow season is over. Probably find a cheap compatible gps on FB market place or ebay… doesn’t need the gps to work as long as the camera connects and displays!
it is smaller than the key fob….
LOL!
My wife has a rear camera from garmin - BC40 I think - that Attached to the rear license plate and displays wirelessly on the compatible garmin gps… you could attach to the front license plate and aim it as needEd for your plow. Other cheaper similar...
the front door insert looks like a simple install… one hole is already there from the looks of it and the other could be filled with a Christmas tree plug or similar if you decided you didn’t like it.
