Needed something sooner rather than later. I'll leave a couple small gaps for any water that gets in to get our but I have a topper so not super worried about the tail gate over flowing.
That's a really bad design.
That shackle mount is basically cosmetic. Without a load path to the frame it's going to fail miserably. Even the factory hooks are bolted directly to the frame. This surface welded only way is going to get someone hurt.

I spoke with the Wrangler brand manager at Jeep. He confirmed that half doors are coming for the JL but it'll probably be late this year with the next model year.

I'm not having much issue with the defroster but I do have several dash mounted items that don't need hot air blowing on them.

Why not buy one that is 800 instead of one of the overly marked up ones?
I paid 500 for mine at a scratch and dent sale 6 years ago. I know of some very nice ones not scratch and dent for under 900...

I wouldn't stress it. cleaner air up higher but the oiled filter may allow some oil past and into the tube. best way to check it. put some miles on the system and then open the intake tube and wipe a rag in there. if its oily and dirty scrap the filter. if it's mostly clean..... let it go
